    Stanley V. Kabat, 88, Greenleaf, died peacefully Saturday, December 29, 2007, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Stanley was born July 20, 1919, in the Town of Wrightstown to Frank and Caroline (Tikalsky) Kabat. He married Florence Nies June 1, 1943, at St. John Catholic Church, Morrison. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf, all his life.
    Stanley was a cheese maker and a farmer. He also worked at Brillion Iron Works and retired in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary's Holy Name Society and Catholic Knights Branch 189. His greatest joys were his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    He is survived by his wife, Florence (Nies) and 12 children: Kenneth (Betty) Kabat, Greenleaf; Mary Clare (Gary) Mommaerts, Greenleaf; Cyril (Lois) Kabat, Arlington Heights, IL; Janice (John) Keyzer, Green Bay; Jerome (Marilyn) Kabat, Greenleaf; Luella (Gary) Van Asten, Kaukauna; Catherine (Bob) Janda, Skanee, MI; James (Karen) Kabat, Sussex; Stanley J. (Terri) Kabat, Bettendorf, IA; Roseanne (Tim) Prunty, Antigo; Theresa (Dean) Swoboda, De Pere; Jane (Greg) Kleineschay, De Pere, 29 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters: Leona Foytik, Rosella (Joe) Nies; sister-in-law, Ruth Kabat, brother-in-law, Jerry Nies, sister-in-law, Ellen (Glen) Farrell, sister-in-law, Lucy Nies and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by daughters: Margaret Ann and her twin sister, a grandson, Tommy Mommaerts, brothers and sisters: Millie and El DeCleene, Father Cyril Kabat, Ceil and Wally Krautkramer, Lan Kabat, Bernadine Nies, sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie (Clarence) Diny, Bill Nies, Bob (Dorothy) Nies, Bernard Nies, Frank Foytik, nieces and nephews: Frank Foytik Jr., Pauline Foytik, Ruth Krautkramer and Howard DeCleene.
    Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere, after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Prayer service at 8:00 p.m. to close the evening. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf with the Reverend Father Bob Kabat and Monsignor John Schuh officiating.     Marvis Jane Mayerl, age 87, passed away December 22, 2010 at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation in Stoughton, Wisconsin, where she was cared for with much love and compassion. She was born November 12, 1923 in Reedsville to William and Bertha (Leick) Kabat. On June 8, 1943, she married the love of her life, Joseph L. Mayerl. He preceded her in death in 2002.
    Marvis is survived by her son: Joseph K. (Mary) Mayerl of Valrico, Florida; a daughter: Karen Lynn (Larry Temby) Mayerl of Madison; grandchildren: Sara (Ray) Kincaid and Katie (AJ) Wold of Florida; Brian (Dana) Jansen of Madison; Greta (Reggie Costict) Jansen of Waunakee; and Devin Jansen of Beaver Dam; great-grandchildren: Jessica, Lorena, Samantha, Mollyjo, Brian, Emaleigh, and Nevaeh; great-great-grandchildren: Katlyn, Juliana, and Elijiah. She is also survived by two sisters: Marie (Robert) Makoutz and Madis �Mickey� Breit; two sisters-in-law: Catherine Kabat and Marion Mayerl; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Marvis was preceded in death by her darling Joe, three infant children: Mark, Mary Beth, and Frances; brothers: Bud (Eleanor) Kabat and Bill Kabat; a sister: Maxine Carter; sisters-in-law: Marge (Harold) Spanbauer, Marie (William) Delsman, and Helen Scott; and a brothers-in-law: John Mayerl, Paul Mayerl, and Ralph Breit..
    The funeral liturgy for Marvis will be held at 12:15 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2010 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for the family to benefit hospice care and the American Cancer Society.

    Sister Cheryl De Cleene, age 77, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Thursday morning, September 27, 2012 at Holy Family Convent.
    The former Ethel Mae De Cleene was born on April 20, 1935 in Greenleaf, daughter of the late Ellsworth and Ludimilla (Kabat) De Cleene. She entered the Convent in 1952 and professed her vows in 1954. Sister Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc. Sister Cheryl served as a teacher at St. Paul, Manitowoc, St. John, Antigo, St. Joseph, Rice Lake, St. Joseph, Waukesha, all of Wisconsin; Holy Name, Escanaba, St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, Michigan and St. Francis of Assisi, Yuma, Arizona. She also served as Directress of Postulants and Temporary Professed at the Motherhouse, Local Director and Secretarial Aide at St. Peter the Fisherman, Two Rivers and a volunteer at St. Paul Elder Services, Kaukauna, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
    Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three brothers and five sisters-in-law: Francis and Laverne De Cleene, DePere, Joe & Patty De Cleene, Don & Sherrie De Cleene, all of Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, Lynn De Cleene and Gloria Kennedy, both of Greenleaf; and six sisters and four brothers-in-law: Delores Blackowicz, McHenry, Illinois, Elaine & Dick Young, Mary & Bob Young, Caroline Nooyen, Rose & Paul Vandervest, all of Green Bay and Donna & Joe Martzahl, Greenleaf. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
    Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Father Placid Stroik, O.F.M. with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.

    Bernard J. De Cleene, age 62, of Greenleaf, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He was born in Green Bay on January 14, 1950 the son of the late Al and Milly (Kabat) De Cleene. On May 6, 1972 he married his wife of 39 years, Lynn Reedy. Bernie proudly served in the National Guard for 14 years. He was employed with The Boldt Company for many years, starting as a bricklayer for 20 years and later became a design draftsman. Bernie was a long time member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf, and was very involved in the choir. He loved to spend time with his family, especially while camping, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his kind and loving heart. Bernie got along with everyone and did not have an enemy.
    Bernie is survived by his wife, Lynn: children: Millie (Troy) Hartl of Kaukauna, Renee (Keith) Brown of Kimberly and Scott (Nicki Mueller) De Cleene of Madison; grandchildren: McKaela, Elyssa, Benjamin and Maia Hartl; brothers and sisters: Delores Blackowicz, Elaine (Dick) Young, Sr. M.     De Cleene, Nathan "Nate"GreenleafNathan "Nate" De Cleene, age 24, died Saturday afternoon, December 21, 20 02 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Gloria (H aen De Cleene) Kennedy and the late Howard De Cleene was born Decemb er 2, 1978 in Green Bay. He was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Cla ss of 1997. Nate was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Greenlea f. He was currently enrolled at Michigan Tech University, where he was nea ring completion of his degree in the field of Geological Engineering. He w as an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at MTU. Mr. De Cleene was a memb er of the school and local mineral and geographical clubs. He had done wo rk study at the University Mineral Museum, where he could pursue his life- long love of rocks and minerals.Survivors include his mother and step-father, Gloria and Pat Kennedy; a br other, Jonathan De Cleene; a sister, Valerie De Cleene; and numerous aunt s, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard De C leene; grandparents, Jerome and Mert Haen, Ellsworth "Al" and Millie De Cl eene; two uncles, David Haen and Roger Nooyen.Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, fr om 4:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday. Parish prayer service will be conducted at 8: 30 PM. Visitation will continue from 9:00 to 11:15 AM Friday at St. Mary 's Catholic Church, Greenleaf.     Jonathan "Jon" DeCleene, 23, Greenleaf, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, following a lengthy illness. He was born March 20, 1984, in Green Bay, to Gloria (Haen) DeCleene and the late Howard DeCleene. Jonathan attended St. Mary's Grade School in Greenleaf and graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Class of 2002. He was a student at Michigan Tech University in Houghton majoring in chemical engineering, and was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He was known for his great sense of humor, and his vast knowledge and appreciation of history, especially military history. His hobbies included video games, Tom Clancy books and good action movies. Jonathan will miss his Sigma Phi Epsilon brothers and spoke well of the camaraderie and fun of Winter Carnival.
    He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Gloria and Pat Kennedy, his sister, Valerie DeCleene, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Howard DeCleene, his brother, Nathan DeCleene, his grandparents Jerome and Merzetha Haen, and Ellsworth and Millie DeCleene.
    Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere. Parish Prayer Service will be held at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf, until time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev Bob Kabat, officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
