    See Image Romenesko, Gary William, Bla ck CreekAge 45, passed away January 22, 2003 at Cherry Meadows Hospice, after a lo ng and courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born on April 28, 1957 in A ppleton; the son of DuWayne and Evelyn (Schumacher) Romenesko. Gary gradua ted from Hortonville High School in 1975. On August 12, 1978, he married M elissa Bubolz of Appleton. Gary was co-owner and manager of Romy's Nitinga le in Black Creek. He volunteered for the Black Creek Fire Department a nd Black Creek Rescue. He has served as assistant Fire Chief and Fire Insp ector in the Village of Black Creek. Gary loved life and the outdoor s. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with family and frien ds and going on "cation" to his cottage up north. He created a lifeti me of wonderful memories for those who have known him.He is survived by his wife, Melissa; two daughters: Lori and Lisa; parent s, DuWayne and Evelyn Romenesko, Black Creek; two brothers: Keith Romenesk o, Appleton; and Rick (Cheryl) Romenesko, Greenville; a sister, Dawn (Stev e) Balthazor, Black Creek; his grandmother, Agnes Schumacher, Little Chut e; his parents-in-law, Lowell and Deloris Bubolz, Appleton; three brothers -in-law: Dan (Linda) Bubolz, Black Creek; Kevin (Cindy) Bubolz, Menasha; a nd Jeff (Margaret) Bubolz, Fremont; 12 nieces and nephews: Craig, Ashle y, Ben and Danielle Romenesko; Chad and Erik Balthazor; and Sarah, Jaso n, Emilie, Michael, David and Peter Bubolz; and a very special friend, D on Beyer, Black Creek. Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents: Wal ter and Ruth Romenesko, and John Schumacher.Gary will be fondly remembered for his generosity and strength of characte r. His sense of humor, caring and compassion for others is an inspirati on to many despite the challenges he faced. When we think of Gary, we wi ll remember the love he shared and how he has made a difference in the wor ld to so many people.Gary's family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Anthony Phillip s, Dr. Jeffery Klingbeil, the nursing staff at Martha Siekman Cancer Cente r, the nursing staff of 3 South Oncology at Appleton Medical Center, Jani ce Williams of Thedacare at Home, Thedacare Hospice, Cherry Meadows Hospic e, Pastor Stephen Schlicht and Black Creek Rescue. Their care, compassi on and sincere warmth in caring for Gary will never be forgotten. A warm t hank you is also extended to family and friends who have loved Gary and ha ve offered their loving support.The Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Imman uel Evengelical Lutheran Church, 201 E. Birch St., Black Creek, with Re v. Stephen Schlicht officiating. The visitation will be Friday, January 2 4, 2003 at the Valley Funeral Home from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Saturd ay at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
