    Eleanor M. Schwaller, age 87, of Kaukauna, formerly of Winneconne, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Appleton Medical Center. She was born June 8, 1924, in Little Chute to the late Sylvester and Frances (VanderBloemen) VandenHeuvel. On February 8, 1947, she married Eugene Schwaller at St. John Church in Little Chute. Eleanor was a homemaker, an office secretary, and for 10 years she worked as a cook for the Markesan School District. She also was a salesperson for Avon products for 10 years. For 15 years Eleanor served as a den mother and secretary for the Boy Scouts. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, and its Christian Mothers. Eleanor enjoyed camping, card club, traveling, fishing, boating, reading, baking, and wintering in Texas.
    Eleanor is survived by her seven sons, Gerald (Linda) Schwaller, of Fish Creek; Kenneth (Maureen) Schwaller, of Little Chute; Thomas (Barbara) Schwaller, of Winneconne; Theodore "Bear" Schwaller, of Amberg; David (Nona) Schwaller, of Rochester, Minnesota; Mark (Diane) Schwaller, of Wausaukee; and Jeff (Brenda) Schwaller, of Pembine; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ione (Paul) Gillen, of Connecticut.
    Along with her parents, Eleanor was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, on September 16, 2011; one sister, Mary Jacquelyn Golden; and one brother, Don VandenHeuvel.
    A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Little Chute. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
    Please make memorial contributions in Eleanor's name to the charity of your choice .
    Eleanor's family wishes to thank the staff of St. Paul Villa for all the care given to her, and a special thank you to her brother-in-law, Jack Schwaller, for his regular visits.

    Vanden Heuvel, Donald "Tiny"
    Donald "Tiny" Vanden Heuvel, Little Chute, age 78, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. Donald was born in Little Chute, on December 19, 1928, to the late Sylvester and Frances (Vander Bloemen) Vanden Heuvel. He graduated from St. Norbert College and served his country in Korea. In 1957, Donald married Rosalie M. Driessen at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where he was a life long member. On May 27, he and Rosalie would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Donald was an estimator in the graphics department at American National Can Co. and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed golf, the Packers and the stock market. In his earlier years, he also liked to hunt and bowl.
    Donald is survived by his wife, Rosalie; five children: Brian of the Town of Kaukauna, Ellen of Kimberly, Michael (Kathy) of Menasha, Gary of Little Chute and Carla of Kimberly; two grandsons: Josh Jansen and Connor Vanden Heuvel; one great-grandson, Will West; two sisters: Ione (Paul) Gillen and Eleanore (Eugene) Schwaller; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Gladys Minten, Gloria (Richard) Nienhaus and Gerald (Audrey) Driessen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jacquelyn (Raymond) Golden; father and mother-in-law, John and Hattie Driessen; and brother-in-law, Ervan Minten.
    The Funeral Mass will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Fri-ends may call Thursday, after 2 p.m. until the time of Mass directly at church. Committal St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dad's hospice nurse, Paul and his home health aide, Charlotte "Charlie."

    Thomas S. "Smokey" Schwaller, of Winneconne, formerly of Little Chute, age 60, died of pancreatic liver cancer at his home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, April 22, 2012. He was born in Appleton to the late Eugene and Eleanor (Vanden Heuvel) Schwaller on May 15, 1951. Tom married the love of his life, Barbara Soffa, at St. Paul Parish in Combined Locks on May 15, 1970. Smokey was an avid outdoorsman that loved to fish, boat, camp and snowmobile. He also enjoyed line dancing, the morning coffee club at Langs Landing, golfing and traveling. Tom loved to attend the Hodag Country Festival in Rhinelander and was a Boy Scout leader. Tom was a sheet metal journeyman and retired from Bassett Mechanical in May of 2011. He was a member of the Fox Valley Retirees Club. Tom loved his family and his grandsons were his pride and joy. Tom is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara; children: Travis, Winneconne; and Melissa (Jason) Dintelman, West Bend; grandsons: Connor and Gavin Dintelman; brothers: Gerry (Linda), Ken (Maureen), Ted "Bear", David (Nona), Mark (Diane) and Jeff (Brenda) Schwaller; mother-in-law: Carol Soffa; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike Soffa (special friend Deb), Rob Soffa, Sharon (Jim) Pohlman, Debbie (Joe) Van Handel and John (Kathy) Soffa. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his father-in-law Job Soffa. Visitation will be held Saturday April 28, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Msgr.
