    Francis VanNieuwenhoven Sr., 84, Green Bay, formerly of Suamico, Ashwaubenon, and Athelstane, went home to the Lord Saturday, October 05, 2013. He was born September 14, 1929, in Green Bay, to the late Edward and Gladys (Brunette) Vannieuwenhoven. Francis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On November 3, 1951, he married the love of his life, Mary Lou Dietzler at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Green Bay. Francis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and worked at various construction companies.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Lou; son, Francis Jr. "Butch" (Linda) VanNieuwenhoven; daughter, Pamela (Robert) Balsinger; grandchildren, Josh (Jenny) and Jacob "Jake" (Amy) VanNieuwenhoven, Lisa Haverkorn (Chad) Waters, and Curt (Jaime) Haverkorn; great-grandchildren, Michael, Michaela, Jacob, Jack, Matthew, and Lola; brothers, Edward "Sylvester" (Delores), Raymond "Larry", and Neil (June); sister, Luella (Carl) VandenHeuvel and Donna Mae Ashley; brother-in-law, George (Lorraine) Dietzler; sister-in-law, Rose Dietzler; and many nieces and nephews.
    Francis was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Rita Vannieuwenhoven and Janet LaMour; and brothers-in-law, Russell Ashley, John "Lin" Dietzler, and David Dietzler.
    Family and friends may call Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 4:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. To leave a special message for the family please visit, www.NewcomerGreenBay.com
