    Donald E. Schultz, age 87, went to heaven on Thursday, November 21. Don had a deep and abiding faith. He had exceptional knowledge of the Bible, was a hard worker and a loving and caring family man.
    Don was born on April 20, 1926 in Greenville, Wisconsin. He was the second of nine children born to William and Ella (Volkman) Schultz. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville. Don worked at the gas station in Greenville, Fox Tractor Company until it closed and at A & E Equipment.
    On June 16, 1956 he married Elaine Lohrenz at Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church. They were happily married for 42 years and raised three daughters, Deb, Sue and Sally. Family was important to Don and there were many family outings and vacations. He especially enjoyed several trips to North Dakota. Don loved spending time with his grandchildren, Brandon, Josh and Jessica. A sadness in his life was when Elaine passed away on April 1, 1999.
    Don was a member of Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was a long time Sunday School teacher for the adult class. In addition, he was church treasurer for many years. He and Elaine were involved in adult fellowship group, Don played dartball and attended men's breakfast.
    Don enjoyed gardening and had a huge garden where he spent many hours. Don and Brandon fed birds together and took care of his apple orchard. Family reunions were a special time for him. He liked talking to people. Animals were a big part of Don's life. The family had pet dogs and cats. He helped his father-in-law milk cows and fed the many barn cats. Don enjoyed the simple things in life, Sunday dinners with the family, jigsaw puzzles, talking about farming, spending time with family and friends, and reading-especially his Bible, newspapers and farming magazines.
    Don is survived by his daughters, Deb (Rich Ralph), Sue and Sally of Hortonville; grandchildren Brandon, Josh and Jessica; sisters Dorothy Defferding, Caroline Schroeder, Bernice (Don) Vanderloop, Barbara Herzfeldt, Mary Ellen (Earl) Schroeder, Janice (Don) Schroeder, Lynn (Bob) Spaulding and brother Gerald (Loretta); brother-in-law Bob (Donna) Lohrenz; many cousins; nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceeded in death by his wife Elaine; parents; brother-in-laws Keith Defferding, Wally Schroeder, and Clarence Herzfeldt.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 am at Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church, N3896 Hample Road, Black Creek (Town of Center) with Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Wichmann Funeral Home, Superior Street Location from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be at Ellington Union Cemetery.
    Don was a special man and will be missed by all who knew him.

    Hortonville - Caroline L. Schroeder, age 89, of Hortonville, passed away following a brief illness. The Lord took Caroline's hand and lead her home on Wednesday, January 17. 2018. She was born on February 25, 1928, baptized on March 25, 1928, and confirmed in 1941. She was united in marriage with Wallace Schroeder in 1948. Caroline was a devoted Christian and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dale.
    Beloved mother of Joanne (Warren) Mueller; Betty (Richard) Basarich; Gail (Timothy) Mayo; Frank (Debbie) Schroeder; Paul (Lou Ann) Schroeder; Michael (Debbie) Schroeder; Daniel (Brenda) Schroeder; daughter-in-law, Deb Schroeder. She is further survived by 28 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and many special relatives.
    Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ella Schultz, her husband Wallace, her son Jim, and many special family members.
    Funeral services for Caroline will be held on Saturday, January, 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dale with Rev. William Finn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
    The family wishes to thank Kindred Hearts, Greenville for their compassion and care.
    In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dale.

    Black Creek - Dennis Lee Defferding, 65, of Black Creek, passed away Friday morning, March 9, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born August 15, 1952, son of Dorothy (Schultz) Defferding and the late Keith Defferding.
    He served in the US Army from 1972 to 1975. On February 24, 1979 he was united in marriage to Sharon Mc Niesh, having celebrated 39 years of marriage.
    Dennis worked as a custodian at the Shiocton School for over 20 years prior to his retirement. He cherished his family, especially the grandchildren.
    He is survived by his wife, Shari; his two sons: Scott (Julie Heindl) Defferding and Eric (Sara) Defferding; grandchildren: Cassidy, Logan and Hayden; mother, Dorothy Defferding; siblings: LuAnn (Ken) Huck, Nancy (Glenn) Neff and John (Lisa) Defferding; mother-in-law, Lorraine Mc Niesh, brother-in-law: Bill (Lois) Mc Niesh; sister-in-law, Donna (Bob) Koch; and best friend, Dave Betters.
    Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 201 E. Birch Street, Black Creek on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Steve Schlicht officiating. Military honors will take place at the church.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dennis's memory.

J im was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family meant everythi ng to him. He was a lifelong resident of the Hortonville area. His favori te hobbies included cooking and collecting. He served his country in the U .S. Army.
    He is survived by his wife, Debra. His mother, Caroline Schroeder, Hortonv ille; two daughters, Candice (Jesse) Ziegler, Hortonville; Katrina Schroed er, Hortonville; two sons, Travis Schroeder and Justin Schroeder, Hortonvi lle; four brothers, Frank (Debbie) Schroeder, MO; Paul (Lou Ann) Schroede r, Hortonville; Mike (Kristine) Schroeder, GA; Dan (Lori) Schroeder, Green ville; three sisters, Joanne (Warren) Mueller, Hortonville; Betty (Rich) B asarich, Chicago; Gail Pressel, Kimberly; two grandchildren, Tyler and Chl oe.     He was preceded in death by his father Wally Schroeder.
    The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 26, 2005, at t he Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville. Interment will be in t he Union Cemetery in Dale. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesd ay from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of servic e.
