    Mischler, Richard G.Richard G. Mischler, Appleton, age 79 passed away on Tuesday December 1 4, 2004 at the home of his daughter. Richard was born October 15, 19 25 in Kaukauna son of the late William and Mary (Kramer) Mischler. He h ad been employed as a home construction carpenter at Fred Hoeppner & So ns for several years and later was self employed. He served in the U. S. A rmy during WW II. Richard married Gerd S. Olsen on April 1, 1946 in Norwa y. She preceded him in death on November 30, 1962. He later married Shirl ey Combs on February 21, 1970. She preceded him in death on October 13, 19 97.Richard is survived by his daughters: Dar (Les) Stumpf of Sherwood, J an ( Sy) Miller of Portage, Sally Leopold of Sherwood and Melissa Mischl er of New London, 9 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Also sur viving is a brother, Donald Mischler (friend Carol) of Appleton; two siste rs; Bernice Betters of Kaukauna and Margaret “Peg” Skell of Pickerel, a si ster in law Margaret Olsen of Wausau, nieces, nephews and other relativ es and friends.Richard was preceded in death by two brothers: Wilfred and Norbert and t wo brothers in law Maurey Skell and Arthur Betters.Funeral services for Richard will be held on Saturday December 18, 20 04 at 11 a.m. at the Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menas ha with Deacon Jerry Cross officiating. Friends and family will be receiv ed at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and aga in on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.     Bernice M. Betters, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 28, 2011. Bernice was born in the town of Buchanan on August 25, 1927, daughter of the late William and Mary (Kraimer) Mischler. On June 19, 1948, she married Arthur Betters at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death in 2003. In addition to being a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Bernice also worked as the librarian at St. Mary's School in Kaukauna for many years. She will be remembered as a wonderful and caring neighbor and friend to many. She was a longtime and devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, feeding her birds, and doting on her great-grandchildren.
    She is survived by three sons: Daniel (Monica) Betters of Menasha; David Betters of Kimberly; Tony Betters of Appleton and his fiance Ellen Wicker; five daughters: Kathleen Krahn of Kaukauna; Carolyn "Lyn" (Michael) Hackel of Combined Locks; Patricia Oates of Appleton; Terri Maas of Kaukauna and her special friend Dan Lemmers; Laura (Robert) Rolf of Kaukauna; twenty grandchildren: Sue (Phil) Sobiek, Christine (Tony) Wolf, and Heather (Nick) Griesbach, Amanda (Jason) Lamine, Emily (Jacob) Jones, Elizabeth (Adam) Van Nice, Brent Betters and his fiancee Maki, Michael Oates, Paul Oates, Kaitlin Oates, Scott (Kathy) Maas, Nicholas (Kim) Maas, Jonathon Betters. Amie (Tim) Kading, Brian Schuh and his fiancee Tricia, Brenda (Jamie) Hostettler, Shannon (Mike) Verhagen, Carmen (Duane) Pingel, Robyn (Eric) Munes, and Natasha Smits and her special friend Steve; there are also nineteen great-grandchildren with three more expected soon. Other survivors include many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
    Bernice is also survived by a sister-in-law: Barb Mischler; a former sister-in-law: Sandra Mischler; by Art's family and her longtime friends Pat Betters, Shirley Betters, Maurice (Ethel) Brockman, and Phyllis (Don) Craney; and by her many dear friends Betty Mereness, Erica Fuhrman, Hank and Mary Dreschler, Margaret Olson, Chris Kehoe, Emma Gloudemans, Bill Blenke, Randy and Tammy Hietpas, Norma and Lewis Fuhrmann, Carol Fox Sr. Francine Goodman and Mark Rohan.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art in 2003, a son-in-law Robert Krahn, granddaughters Maria Krahn and Ann Frances Betters, siblings Norbert (Jane) Mischler, Richard (Gerd) Mischler, Donald (Rosemary) Mischler, Wilfred Mischler, and Peggy (Maurey) Skell; as well as by her good friend Jane Van Hout.
    The funeral liturgy for Bernice will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH (St. Mary's Church), 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
    The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone from the Kaukauna Police Department as well as Kaukauna Fire and Rescue for the sensitive way you handled our mother's passing. We will be forever grateful for your kindness.

    Daniel J. Betters, age 63, of Menasha, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, March 20, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. On August 11, 1951, Daniel was born in Appleton to the late Arthur E. and Bernice M. (Mischler) Betters. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, class of 1969. Upon graduation, he pursued a career as an electrician as well as a "Jack of all Trades." Dan had started his own business and worked for many years doing what he loved to do most; especially remodeling and woodworking. Dan was united in marriage to Monica J. Huelsbeck on August 3, 1990 in Appleton. He was a great pool player and was a master at training dogs. As members of Christ the Rock, Dan and Monica were involved in many ministries with Caring Hearts Disability Ministry being closest to Dan's heart. He loved spending every moment he could with his family and grandchildren.
    Dan will be missed by his loving wife, Monica; his daughter, Elizabeth (Adam) Van Nice and their children: Caiden, Gabriel, Judah, Elias, and another baby boy due to arrive in July; his siblings: Kathy Krahn, Lyn (Mike) Hackel, Dave Betters, Patti Oates, Terri Maas, Tony (friend, Ellen) Betters, Laurie (Bob) Rolf; brother-in-law, Jeff (Deb) Huelsbeck; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends, and his loving four-legged best friend, Spirit.
    In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandchild; brother-in-law, Bob Krahn; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Raymond and Delphine Huelsbeck; and a few treasured cousins.
    A Memorial Celebration of Dan's life will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Christ the Rock, W6254 Hwy 10-114 in Menasha. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3:00pm until the hour of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Guenther and his staff for the past 10 ½ years of comfort and caring support as well as the staff on the 7th floor at AMC for the loving care given to Dan and especially to our dear friend and genetics counselor, Bobbi McGivern, for her personable and compassionate care.

    Tom Mischler, 49, Combined Locks, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, following a brief battle with cancer. Tom was born in Appleton on Oct. 5, 1960, son of the late Donald and Rosemary (Nowell) Mischler. He was a 1979 graduate of Appleton East High School, and for over twenty years was active in the National Guard. On March 18, 2005, Tom married Mary (Wiesenberg) in Appleton; she survives. Tom held several jobs over the years, most recently working for R.R. Donnelly in Appleton. Tom enjoyed deer hunting, NASCAR racing, throwing darts with friends, and cheering on the Packers and Brewers.
    Tom is survived by his wife: Mary Mischler of Combined Locks; a son: Matthew Mischler of Appleton and his girlfriend Kelly McDonald; two sisters: Mary "Fran" (Greg) Fulcer of Menasha and Kate (Jerry) Mahloch of Shawano; two brothers: Patrick Mischler of Appleton and his special friend Christine Tobin and Peter Mischler of Kaukauna; a brother-in-law: Scott (Marcia) Wiesenberg of Henrietta, New York; three aunts: Bernice Betters of Kaukauna; Anna (Bill) Sherry of West Bend; and Kate Bessin of Miami; an uncle: Jim (Nancy) Nowell of Minnesota, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and aunt: Peggy (Maurey) Skell, and uncles Norbert (Jane) Mischler, Richard Mischler, Wilfred Mischler, and Peter Mott Nowell; his paternal grandparents: William and Mary Mischler, his maternal grandparents: Edward and Farney Nowell; and a brother-in-law: Jerry Esslinger.
    Funeral services for Tom will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at the funeral home chapel, with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the hour of the service.
    Tom will be remembered by all as a likeable man, whose personable manner could turn a stranger into a friend in a matter of minutes. He was always there for a friend or family member who needed assistance, and often worried about others more than he worried about himself. Those who knew him and loved him will forever cherish his memory.
