John "Jack" "Jaxn" Kalies, age 59, a resident of Sugar Camp, WI since 1995, formerly of Wrightstown, WI, passed away, Friday, August 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born July 29, 1958 in Green Bay, WI to parents Kenneth and Mary Kalies. He married the love of his life Nancy Verhoven on May 8, 1982 in Wrightstown, WI. John enjoyed motorcycle riding and snowmobiling. He loved hunting and fishing. Above all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. John served as President of the Sugar Camp Snowmobile Club. He was a member of the American Legion and Sugar Camp Lion's Club. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. John was preceded in death by his father: Kenneth; brother-in-law: Ron "Z" Verhoven; father-in-law: Dick Verhoven. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Kalies of Sugar Camp, WI; daughters: Stephanie (Justin) Keckeisen of Sugar Camp, WI, Sarah (Jason) Hein of Rhinelander, WI; mother: Mary Kalies of Kaukauna, WI; mother-in-law: Edna Verhoven of DePere, WI; brothers: Terry, Tony (Michelle) of Kaukauna, WI, Al (Amy) of Appleton, WI; sisters: Becky Kalies of Kaukauna, WI, Maria (Rod) Kussow of DePere, WI; brother-in-laws: Ken (Joanne) Verhoven of Three Lakes, WI, Marty (Sue) Verhoven of Rockford, MN; sister-in-laws: Judy (Wayne) Bodde of Kaukauna, WI, Sue Verhoven of Campbellsport, WI, Carol Verhoven of Athelstane, WI, Deb (Den) Hermes of Seymour, WI; grandchildren: Andrew, Liam, Levi and Gunnar; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in the Sugar Camp Cemetery in Sugar Camp, WI.
