    Joan C. Niles, 78, Brillion, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009. She was born on Jan. 7, 1931, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Antone and Frances (Van Roy) LeCoque. She married John Niles, Jr. on Oct. 6, 1951, in Green Bay. Joan loved to garden, crochet and enjoyed talking with people at Mom's Place. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion.
    Survivors include two sons, John Niles, III, Brillion; Jeffrey (Mary) Niles, Oakfield; two daughters, Judy (Gerald) Dix, Brillion; Jayne (Kenneth) Huey, San Diego Calif.; seven grandchildren, Heather Falk, Mike Schwabenlender, Kelly Hale, Jason Dix, Joleen Dix, William Huey and Tory Huey; four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tonya Falk, Camden and Paydin Hale; two sisters, Arbutus Blozinski and Betty Heuvelmans, both of Green Bay; and other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on Aug. 6, 2003; a daughter, Juanita Schwabenlender; and her siblings, Irvin LeCoque, Clarence LeCoque, Robert LeCoque, Lawrence LeCoque, Pearl Shepardson, Irene Hannon, Alma Hannon, Viola Basten, Bernice Nero and Juanita LeCoque.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
    The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the Niles family with arrangements.
