Mrs. Alex Hartlaub Dies This Morning Mrs, Alex Hartlaub, aged 40, passed away this morning at her home, in the town of Newton, after a short illness,- Her maiden name was Clara Rueden, and she was born in Sheboygan. She was married to Mr. Hartlaub January 21, 1908 who survives her, together with one daughter, Matilda and six sons. Alphonso, Isadore, Clement, Henry, Victor, Rudolph and Paul, Her aged father, Matt Rueden, three brothers, Henry, De- Pere, Edward at Schiocton, and Anton at St. Louis and six sisters, Mrs. Rose Pelky, New London, Mrs. Matilda Schettle, Newton, Mrs. Hlldegarde Grapenten. Manitowoc, Mrs. Earl Hooyman, Kaukauna, Mrs. Peter Ebben, Appleton and Mrs. Clement W. Inklen, of Schiocton also survive. The deceased was a member of the Christian Mothers society. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at nine o'clock from the home and at 9:30 from Silver Lake church, Rev. Specht officiating. Burial will be at Sil- ver Lake cemetery.

See Image Two Women Die, Four Other Persons Injured When Car Truck- Crash Mother of Nine Children One of Accident - Victims LAUNCH INQUEST Traffic Fatalities are First in County This Year Two women were killed instantly and four other persons were injured at 3:15 Saturday afternoon when an automobile driven by Harvey Bessett, route 1, Shiocton, and a bakery truck driven by Carl Martin, Green Bay collided on an icy curve of Highway 54 at the east village limits of Black Creek. Mrs. Harvey Bessett, 33, and Mrs. Earl Hooyman, 34, route 1, Shiocton, the mother of nine children, were killed in the crash. Both suffered broken necks. The three other occupants of the Bessett car were badly injured Carl, 6-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bessett, suffered concussion of the brain, a tongue laceration and a fracture of a collar bone. He was taken to a New London, hospital and is expected to recover. Cuts About Head Bessett had cuts about the head, face bruises and a cut on one hand while Gust Grulke. route 1, Shiocton. suffered a severe laceration of a lower eye-lid and other cuts about the face. Martin, the truck driver, escaped with a slight injury to one knee. The Bessetts had been at Oneida. and were returning home when the accident occurred, according to Sheriff John Lappen. Martin was driving his truck toward Seymour. An investigation of the crash was launched immediately by Sheriff Lappen, Dr. H E. Ellsworth, coroner, and Raymond P. Dohr. district attorney. A coroners jury composed of Roy Bishop, R. Tesch, Peter Kitzinger, Ferdinand Zocholl Ray Rohloff and Ray Kitner, all of the village of Black Creek, viewed the bodys and the scene of the accident The inquest was adjourned indefinitely, but probably will be resumed later this week. Dr. Ellsworth said The two fatalities were the first recorded in Outagamie county this year. Funerals Tuesday Mrs. Hooyman was born at Manitowoc. Feb 2. 1903. was married at Shiocton Sept 5, 1922, and resided at Kaukauna about 10 years before returning to a farm near Shiocton. Survivors are the widower; nine children Herbert 14, Hildegarde 12 Alexander 10 Helena 3, Betty Jane 7, Clara 5, Rose Ann 4, Eugene 2 and Theresa 6 months, three brothers Henry Rueden, Oneida Edward and Anton Rueden, Shiocton- three sisters. Mrs. Joseph Schuttle. Manitowoc- Mrs. Rose Pelky, Appleton- Mrs. Hildegarde Grapentine, Kaukauna Funeral services will be held at St Denis church at Shiocton at 10 o clock Tuesday morning. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery of Bovina Mrs. Bessett was born at Deer Creek March 3. 1903. was married there June 24. 1924. and resided at Kaukauna about three years before returning to a farm 4 miles northwest of Shiocton Three Children Survivors are the widower: three children. Catherine 11. Carl 6. and Richard 8 months, her parents. Mr. and Mrs. William Peeters, Deer Creek: four sisters, Mrs. Theodore Young, Mrs. Chester Balthazar, Mrs. Gordon Stilen, and Miss Ro- sella Peeters, Deer Creek; four brothers. Cornelius, John, Christian, and Walter Peeters, Deer Creek. Funeral services will be held at St Mary's church of Bear Creek at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial Turn to page 4 col 6 will be in the Catholic cemetery at Bear Creek. Both bodies were taken to the Charles Masterson Funeral home at Shiocton.

Obituary:
Mary Downs, copper-headed, Fox Valley poet, died at home on December 8, 2016, grateful for her full and happy life. Mary, who lived at the Heritage in Appleton, Wisconsin for over 25 years, celebrated her 93rd birthday on June 5, 2016. Born Mary Catherine Lummerding to Nicholas Edward Lummerding and Wilamina Mary Fischer Lummerding, the oldest of three vivacious girls - Mary, Peg and Carol -- she was raised in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, took commercial courses at Kaukauna High School, and graduated in 1941.
Soon after, she entered employment with Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company and worked in accounting and administration there until 1969. She attended St. Norbert's College, studying English while working fulltime. She loved to read, listen to NPR, and travel.
In 1969 she married widower Martin L. Downs, a Thilmany executive, moved to Greengrove Road along the Fox River, and acquired two adult daughters, Kathleen Krahn Downs and Stephanie Downs Hughes (husband Duncan). She joined Martin to become an enthusiastic member of the Brownouts, a couples social group formed during WWII. At Greengrove she expanded her interests in playing piano and harpsichord, sewing and gardening - making the riverfront bloom. From birth a member of St. Mary Catholic parish in Kaukauna, after moving to Appleton she began her enduring connection to St Thomas Moore Catholic Church. She also relished participation in Kings' Daughters Infant Welfare Circle and Over the Tea Cups. She was a dedicated volunteer with the helping organization Leaven for twenty years.
Mary and Martin greatly enjoyed the children in the Greengrove neighborhood, long walks and bike rides, word games, reading the paper and discussing the news, and travelling together. They had many adventures across North America - including to family in Boston, Pittsburgh, and British Columbia - throughout Europe and beyond.
The Downses moved to The Heritage in 1991. Mary immediately became active in the life of the community there and remained so over decades. She served creatively on the Welcoming Committee, helped run the library, served on the governance council, and obligingly read at poetry slams. She relished involvement with a poetry round robin. Her poems have been published in numerous Wisconsin poetry collections. Her own best-known compendium is entitled A Hundred Miles to Go.
Mary was preceded in death by husband Martin in 2008, sister Peg (Gene) Winn in 2003, and sister Carol (Jim) Ashauer in 2010. Mary has loved keeping connected to her family and many friends - who will keep her alive in their thoughts. She has relished frequent visits from daughters Kathleen of Ladysmith BC; Stephanie and husband Duncan of Naperville IL; grandsons Nathan Downs Hughes, wife Jennifer Joy (Sigman), and grandchildren Aiden Martin (8) and Emily Joy (4) of Pittsburgh PA; and Ryan Downs Hughes of Portland, OR. Mary has shared Packer Backer fanaticism with her Ashauer nephews who now live in California: Stephen in Aliso Viejo and Michael (Patty) in Napa. She is also survived by her niece Barb Bobber (Cliff) of Kimberly and numerous grand- and great-grand- nephews and nieces, including Mark Bobber (Kristi) of Oak Creek WI, David Bobber (Stacy) of Waukesha WI, and Sheri Kennedy (Scott) of Prairie Du Chien WI.
A memorial mass for Mary will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at St Thomas Moore at 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton 54911 (739-7758), with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Visitation for Mary will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:30am to 11:00am. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Carol T. Ashauer, 81, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center. Carol was born on May 22, 1928, in Kaukauna, to the late Nicholas and Wilamina (Fischer) Lummerding. She married James Ashauer on May 14, 1951, in Kaukauna; her husband of 46 years preceded her in death on July 21, 1997. Carol was employed at the Lieber Lumber Company, Farmers and Merchants Bank and the Kaukauna School System. She was a member of the Fox Valley Golf Club, Ladies Elk Club, an avid Packer and Badger fan, and enjoyed golfing and playing cards. For over 20 years, she and Jim wintered in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and visited their sons in California.
Survivors include her sons: Michael (Patty) Ashauer, Napa, California; and Stephen Ashauer, Aliso Viejo, California; her sister, Mary Downs, Appleton; and her niece, Barb (Cliff) Bobber. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law: Eugene (Margaret) Ashauer, John (Ione) Ashauer, Thomas (Kathy) Ashauer; her sisters-in-law: Carol Jansen and Carol Ashauer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Winn and her brothers-in-law, Leon Ashauer, Martin Downs and Gene Winn.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.

Basil Rueden, 89, died peacefully early Sunday morning, August 14th 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by his loving family.
Basil, and his wife Joan, raised 11 children on their over 100 cow dairy farm in West De Pere. Summer and Christmas family reunions keep the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins close.
Basil grew up during the Depression on a small farm near what is now called Austin Straubel airport. He and his brother Andy milked cows in the 1930s-40s while their older brothers went off to school and war. He eventually bought the home farm, determined to expand and modernize his dairy business. He was featured on the cover of Farming Today magazine in 1960 with one of the new breed of tractors and equipment.
In 1962, at the age of 39, Basil lost an arm in a farming accident. He took advantage of his time spent recovering to attend farming school, dairying equipment school, and toured various modern farms. Then Basil built one of the first milking parlors in Wisconsin and actively sought out new technology, implementing modern, innovative ideas in housing, managing, and delivering feed to cattle, and new cultivation methods. He continued to be interested in the latest farming technology to the very end of his life.
Basil was active on the Brown County Farm Bureau board for many years. He and Joan hosted Brown County "Breakfast on the Farm", and held farm tours for many different groups.
Although the original 1100 acre farmstead and dairy near Oneida was sold in 1995, Basil never contemplated retiring from farming. He and Joan grew a new farmstead east of Shawano and continued to crop several hundred acres of corn and soybeans.
Right up till the last weeks he was on the 'bug' pushing brush into a pile for burning, or on the John Deere gator checking the soybeans, or proudly showing visitors, friends and family, how the corn was growing.
Wife Joan adored the man she married 62 years ago. They were inseparable. Basil was an inspiration, a role model and even a hero to his many children and grandchildren. His ever present smile and laughter was contagious. He found happiness in everyday things, and we loved that special twinkle in his eye as he held each new grandchild, and great grandchild. Basil leaves a rich legacy of love, joy, patience and dignity to those he touched.
Basil Rueden is survived by his wife of 62 years Joan (Van Gheem) Rueden; sons Joseph (Karen), John (Ildiko), Jeff (Joan), Warren (LouAnn), Mark (Kimberly), and Eric; daughters Janet (Michael) Oettinger, Lynn (Sam) Kujava, Merry (Paul) Hoffman, Lisa Vandehei, and Shari (David) Wickesberg; forty loving grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; many other beloved family members; and many, many memories.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 St. Joseph Dr. Oneida from 4:30pm - 7:30pm on Thursday August 18, 2011. A parish prayer service will be held at 7pm to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 10am Friday at the church until the Celebration of the Mass at 11am with Fr. She was born in Kaukauna on December 29, 1917 to the late Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden. On September 4, 1952 she married Anthony Zitzelsberger, he preceded her in death on March 17, 2000. Cecilia was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She taught in a one room school in the Shiocton area. She worked at Zwickers Knitting Mill and then with her husband for their excavating company. Marian M. Barlow passed away on September 18, 2013 after a short illness. Marian was born in Kaukauna on April 26, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden. She married Victor Barlow on September 28, 1946 in Shiocton. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2010.
She took pride in growing up on a farm in Shiocton. She loved to do Word Searches and play cribbage. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, her Thanksgiving stuffing and all her pies. Nobody left her home hungry. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marian is survived by her children Bob (Connie) Barlow, Mike (Gretchen) Barlow, Peggy (John) Annis, Sharon Barlow and son-in-law Bob Henseler. Her 11 grandchildren Scott (Sherri) Henseler, Mark (Jen) Henseler, Stephanie (AJ) Hosig, Brian (Lauren) Barlow, Brandon Barlow, Emily Barlow, Matt Barlow, Nick (Tiffany) Annis, Tim Annis, Alex Annis and Jordan Annis. Her 3 great-grandchildren Derek and Abbey Henseler and Vincent Annis. Her brother Roger (Verona) Rueden, sister Joanne Meyer and sister-in-law Shirley Reuden. Roger Anthony Rueden, age 87 of Shiocton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his residence. Roger was born on April 17, 1929 to the late Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden in Shiocton. He grew up in Shiocton and graduated from Shiocton High School in 1947. On January 3, 1953, he was united in marriage to Verona King. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2016. Roger was a farmer his entire life and worked on the family farm. He also worked construction until 1967 and drove school bus for Shiocton School District for 42 years. He officially retired in 2009. Roger enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and playing Sheepshead with his buddies. Roger loved his numerous trips to Canada fishing with his family and friends.
Roger survived by his children, Ronald (Paula) Rueden, Diane Knops, Becky (John) Sager, and Kathleen (Carl) Lucht; grandchildren, Eric (Jamie) Sager, Heather Knops (Tony Rangel), Sara (Corey) Bergsbaken, Jessica Sager, Jason (Lauren) Knops and Landon Lucht; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Hailey, Colton, Alexis, Aiden, Brandon, Shanna, Connor, Kyle, Owen, Olivia, Antonio and Anna and his sister, JoAnn Meyer. He is further survived by five step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Debra Rueden; son-in-law, Ron Knops and siblings, Mildrid, Ervin, Ceciel, Agnes, Marion and Elizabeth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton, with Fr. Richard Allen and Deacon Ken Bilgrien officiating. Family and friends can visit directly at the church on Thursday, from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Bohatschek, Betty Marie, God opened his arms and welcomed home Betty Marie Bohatschek, when she died peacefully Wednesday, November 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in Shiocton on May 12, 1931 to the late Edward and Mary Rueden. Blessed into a large family, she grew up on the family farm and learned life lessons that she would carry with her throughout her life. After graduation she worked at Zwickers Mill and enjoyed many adventures with her friends, especially to Shawano Lake.
On September 5, 1955, she married Max Bohatschek. Together they enjoyed 40 years of companionship. During that time they enjoyed card club, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. They took bus trips, traveled, and attended many Packer games. As a mother of young children, Betty volunteered at St. Gabriel Church. She worked at Kimberly Clark for 20-plus years, taking with her many memories and life-long friends. After retirement, she enjoyed time volunteering at Theda Clark's gift shop.
Betty was well known as a savvy card player, who would never share her strategies. She also greatly enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. Her family recipes have been, and will be, passed on for many generations. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and her ability to make light of any situation.
The light of her life in her later years were her grandchildren and granddogs. She was the best grandma any child could have wished for. They will always cherish the memories they were fortunate to make with her and they both loved her with all their hearts. Betty was generous with her family and friends; always putting their needs before her own. She would often go without to give her children a little something special.
Betty will be missed by her two daughters: Ann (Steven) Heser; Julie (Duane) DeKeyser; her two grandchildren: Nathan and Alyssa DeKeyser; her sisters: Joanne Meyer; Marion Barlow; and brother, Roger (Verona) Rueden. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law: Shirley Rueden and Lorraine (Mike) Vander Wielen as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; siblings: Cele (Tony) Zitzelsberger; Mildred (Norm) Seguin; Agnes (Lloyd) Davis; Ervin Rueden; brothers-in-law: Gene Meyer, and Vic Barlow; and other family members, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral service for Betty will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Friends will be received at church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fox River Assisted Living for their constant care, friendship and compassion. Betty enjoyed the residents and staff over the last few years. Joanne Johanna (nee' Rueden) Meyer passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Sunday, January 15, 2017, following a short hospitalization. She was born on the family farm in Shiocton, on April 26, 1934, the youngest of the 8 children of Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden. On May 5, 1956, Joanne married Eugene Meyer. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2009.
Joanne was an active member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Greenville, for 58 years, helping with many of the church and school act ivies over the years. Most recently, she enjoyed meeting with others to make Rosaries for the missions. A few of her other interests included extensive Genealogy research, some travel and playing cards and other games. Joanne also enjoyed and appreciated visits with her friends and extended family, card playing groups, and birthday lunches with her "work group" from the credit union. Her life was always centered around her family.
Joanne is survived by her 4 children: Sue (Tom) Feld, Lisa Strong, Kerrie (Jimmy) Buksyk and Daniel Meyer; her 4 grandchildren: Jeremy (Anushka) Klitzke, James (Angela) Buksyk, Justin Buksyk and Johanna Buksyk; and her 2 great-grandchildren: Evan Eugene Buksyk and Madisen Rose Buksyk.
Mass of Christian burial for Joanne will be 11:30 AM on Friday January 20, 2017 at ST. MARY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, N2385 Municipal Dr, Greenville, with Fr. Dane Radecki officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Friday morning beginning at 9:30 until 11:15 AM, with Mass at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mom will be missed by all and remembered with love.

Lillian Ogden-Kolmos, age 91 of Kenosha, died on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Kaukauna, WI on November 7, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Rueden) Ebben. She was a 1942 graduate of Appleton West High School.
On September 2, 1944 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton, she was united in marriage to Harold Ogden. They made Kenosha their new home. After 43 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on February 10, 1988. On October 14, 1989, at St. James Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Jesse Kolmos. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1999.
Lillian was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church since 1945. She served as president of St. James Catholic Women, and was a member of Home and School through St. James Elementary School.
She was very active in the DAVA and was a past State Commander from 1973-1974. Lillian loved to golf and for over 30 years, she was in various golf leagues including Spring Valley Country Club.
Lillian worked as a secretary and homemaker.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald Ogden and Ronald (Nancy) Ogden of Kenosha; her step-children, Denise (Kevin) Cassin of Tustin, CA and Sharon Kolmos of Chino, CA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John (Kelly) Mauser of Kenosha, Jim (Kimberly) Mauser of Kenosha, Andrew (Cara) Schneiderman of Kingsland, GA, Nathan Schneiderman of Kenosha, Donald Ogden, Jr. of Kenosha, Rachael (Paul) Heideman of Woodstock, IL and Jacob (Meghan Webb) Ogden of Kenosha. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Emily, John, Chloe, Hanna, Pheonix, Tryumph, Zoey and Addison.
She is further survived by two brothers, James (Judy) Ebben of Appleton, WI and Francis (Joann) Ebben of Menasha, WI; her 2 sisters in law, Rose Ebben and Delores Ebben and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ogden; a daughter, Mary Kay Mauser; a step son Robert Kolmos; her brothers Virgil, Myron (Mike) and Harvey Ebben; her sister, Evelyn Peters; her step-brother, Merlin Kimball and one brother and two sisters in infancy.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 beginning with a prayer service at 9:15 a.m. at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 5821 10th Avenue. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. A visitation for Lillian will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, from 4:00 p.m. until the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 20 Service at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Byron "Mike" Ebben, 81, Little Chute died in New Mexico unexpectedly on Sunday January 1, 2012. He was born in Mackville on August 4, 1930. Mike married Rosalie Lamers on August 8, 1951 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute. He was an Army veteran, stationed in Alaska, and was a member and past Commander of the Jacob Coppus American Legion #258. Mike worked at Giddings and Lewis Foundry in Kaukauna and Neenah Foundry. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and his past position with Wisconsin's DNR. Mike enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and sheephead. He was also known to hustle a good game of pool now and then.
Mike is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosalie; children: Ronald (friend Debbie), Neenah; Marilyn (Fred) Van Handel, Little Chute; Steven (friend Cathy), Goodyear, AZ; and Bill (Julie), Appleton; grandchildren: Amanda and Andrew Ebben, Amelia and Rebecca Van Handel; sister and brothers: Lillian Kolmos, Jim (Judy) and Fran (Joann); and sisters and brothers-in-law: Delores Ebben, Marion Piepkorn, Robert (Els) Lamers, Gladys (Mark) Hietpas, Pat (Lloyd) Vandehey and Bev (Charles) Goodman. Harvey H. Ebben, 78, Hortonville, died at Living Tree Assisted Living Estates in Greenville, Saturday morning, Aug. 14, 2010, with family by his side. Harvey was born in Mackville, Wis., on May 17, 1932, the son of Peter and Mary (Rueden) Ebben.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1955. On June 3, 1953, Harvey married Delores Mae Thern at Hortonville Baptist Church. He worked for Wisconsin Electric for 39 years, from 1956 until his retirement in 1995.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Delores Mae Ebben; children, Randall (Sandra) Ebben, Pardeeville, Wis.; Colleen (David) Ninneman, Waupaca, Wis.; and Kaylene (Jack) Engel, Oconomowoc, Wis.; grandchildren, Chris (Justyna) Ebben, Nathan Ebben, Brooke (Russell) Stainbrook, Joshua Ninneman, Brittany (Scott) Rollins and Kayla Ninneman (special friend, Mike Peotter); great-granddaughter, Kiley Peotter; sister, Lillian Kolmos; and brothers, Mike (Rose) Ebben, Jim (Judy) Ebben and Fran (Joanne) Ebben.

Harvey remained optimistic throughout his four year courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He was a true witness of living his life for God by using his gift of stewardship to help others.
A memorial service for Harvey will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd., Appleton, with the Reverend Dick Schaefer officiating. Family and friends may visit at church from 9 a.m. Tuesday morning until the time of service.

Her legacy of love will live on through everyone who has known her. Hildegarde was an active member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. She served on the Parish Council, School Board, Social Concerns Committee, Religious Education - Special Needs, and Parish Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed many years helping at the Church's Resale Shop. She was a leader of the Busy Badgers 4-H club. She was a member of the Golden Hill Homemakers.

Theresa M. (Nee Hooyman, formerly Newhouse) Buchner, Kimberly, age 75 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a year-long battle with cancer on Monday, December 26th, 2011. Theresa was born August 14, 1936, to the late Earl and Elizabeth (Rueden) Hooyman, Shiocton. Theresa was married to her loving late husband Walter Buchner in Cancun in February 9, 1983.
Theresa enjoyed the three B's, Bingo, Bowling, and Brewers. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family playing Canasta. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary Post #60 for many years and carried the flag in many of the Kimberly Memorial celebrations. She was a devoted member of Kimberly Holy Spirit Parish, helped with special needs religion and volunteered with the needy and homeless.
Theresa is survived by her seven children: Michael (Jane) Newhouse, Cindy (Guy) Van Lanen, Patty (Doug) West, Lora Newhouse, Susan (Douglas) Korth, Tim (fiancee, Barb Jonet) Newhouse and Joy (Ed) Casper; nine grandchildren: Heather (Chris) Groth, Jason Newhouse, Tret and Taryn West, Scott (Alicia) and Ryan (Christina) Korth, Josh Newhouse and Joseph and Elizabeth Casper; three great-grandchildren: Linken, Deklen and Orren Korth. She is also survived by two sisters: Helena (Nick) Kruzicki and Rose Ann (Donald) Smith; two sisters-in-law: Audrey (Eugene) Blake and Mary Lou (Don) Dorn; and brother-in-law, Roland Kanaman; many godchildren, nieces, nephews; and two special friends: Muriel Gardner and Shirley LeClaire.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Buchner; siblings: Herb (Agnes) Hooyman, Hildegarde (Victor) Fermanich, Butch Hooyman, Betty Kanaman, Clara (Leander) Petit, and Eugene Hooyman.
The funeral liturgy will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, Kimberly Campus, 600 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, with Fr. Dave Beaudry officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park at a later date.
Special thanks to the Oncology and Radiation departments at AMC and to the special caregivers with Theda Care Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Theresa's name is being established.

Died unexpectedly on December 5, 2017 surrounded by her family while listening to "Proud Mary" and Christmas carols. Willie was born on October 22, 1935 in Manitowoc to William and Hildegarde (nee Rueden) Grapentin. Willie was joined in marriage to Gerald Vanderloop on August 12, 1953. Willie loved flowers, golf, shopping, going out to eat, signing in, and having an Old Fashioned.
Willie is survived by her children: Gerri (Jeff) Yingling, Pat (Dave) Doering, Bill (Denise), Teresa (Jeffery) Robinson, Jim (Sue), and Mary (Paul) Dobbert. James "Jim" Rueden, age 50, of De Pere, died Tuesday morning, May 11, 2004 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Audrey (Virgin) Rueden and the late Bernard Rueden was born April 15, 1954 in Green Bay. He was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1972. Jim had hauled milk for Lake to Lake and worked at Richco Structures for many years prior to his illness. He enjoyed motorcycling, working on cars, and NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his son, Chris Rueden, De Pere; Chris's mother, Pamela Baeten; Jim's mother, Audrey Rueden; four brothers: Henry Rueden, De Pere; Tony Rueden, De Pere; Leonard Rueden, Oneida; Bill Rueden, De Pere; a sister and brother-in-law, Tom VanDeLoo, Forest Junction; Eileen Rueden; and a niece, Jolene Rueden.

Randy Zitzelsberger, age 58, of Appleton, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 1, 1955, to the late Tony and Cele (Rueden) Zitzelsberger in Appleton. Randy graduated from Appleton West High School and furthered his education at the Fox Valley Technical College. On October 14, 1978, he married the love of his life, Sue Retzlaff, and they spent 34 and a half wonderful years together. Randy always had the gift of gab and could make a friend anywhere. He enjoyed helping his dad on his vegetable farm in his spare time, and he worked for many years at the Hortonville Toy Factory and Michels Materials before retiring. Randy loved being a "papa" and had a dream to farm with his son as well as collecting antiques, rummaging, taking care of his yard, being outdoors, and tinkering in his shed. His family was the most important thing to him, and they will miss him dearly.

Paula M. Paquette, New London, age 45, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. Paula was born on March 14, 1961, in New London daughter of Lloyd and Agnes (Rueden) Davis. On August 1, 1992, Paula was united in marriage to Steven Paquette in New London. Paula worked in the kitchen at St. Joseph Residence for 21 years, until poor health forced her retirement in 2000. She is survived by her husband Steven; her father Lloyd, Antigo; a step-daughter Chanda, Georgia; two sisters Pamela (Norbert) Wensel, Deer Brook; and Patti (Lorne) Buss, Tigerton. Further surviving Paula are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, two brothers Richard and William. Shiocton - Paul A. Hooyman, 57, of Shiocton, passed away on February 13, 2018, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee following a brief illness. He was born on October 15, 1960, son of the late Herbert and Agnes (Peeters) Hooyman.
Paul graduated from Shiocton High School.
He was a long-time member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Shiocton and worked at Sturm Foods in Manawa.
On April 16, 1983 he was united in marriage to Connie Samson, celebrating nearly 35 years as a happily married couple.
Paul was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, put out set lines, and anything else he could do outside. Spending time in his swimming pool with friends and family was one of his favorite things to do in the summer. He loved to make people laugh and always had a smile on his face. Paul was quick to help anyone in need.
He is survived by wife Connie; children: Tony (Sarah) Hooyman, Rachel (Mike) Krueger, and Austin Hooyman; grandchildren: Lillian, and two more expected; siblings: Jim (Joy) Hooyman, Jerry (Lorraine) Hooyman, Mary Sue (John) Schmude, Jean (Jerome) Schroth, Rita (Dan) Schroth, Elaine (Dan) Conradt, Carla (Allan) Chizek, Bill Hooyman, and Bonnie Hooyman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Rose Samson; brothers-in-law, Ken Samson and Randy (Bonny) Samson; sister-in-law, Linda (Don) Stefanic; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born on January 2 2, 1954 in New London, the son of Roland and Betty (Hooyman) Kanaman. Ri ck was a lifelong resident of Shiocton, where he graduated from Shiocton H igh School in 1972. He was employed at Miller Mfg. Co. of Appleton for t he past 10 years. His many hobbies included playing the keyboard and spend ing time on the computer. Rick also loved to bake for his family, friend s, and the nurses at the Dialysis Center. He also enjoyed woodwoorking a nd feeding the birds. Rick is survived by his parents, Roland and Betty Ka naman, Shiocton; his grandfather, Clayton Allender, Shiocton; two brothe rs and sisters-in-law: Alan Kanaman, Black Creek; Jack (Tina) Kanaman, App leton; Dawn Kanaman, Shiocton. Bruce A. Petit, 53, Kaukauna, passed away on October 24, 2013 after a 3 year battle with cancer. Bruce was born on July 4, 1960 to Leander and Clara (Hooyman) Petit. He was a 1978 graduate of Kaukauna High School. On August 22, 1980 Bruce married the former Jean Willems at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton and they enjoyed over 33 years together. He was employed as a Press Operator at Coating Excellence for many years. Bruce's family was his life. Being a husband to Jean and a good father to Jennifer was most important. Bruce loved trips to the casinos and coin collecting. He also loved all sports but especially loved the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR.
Bruce will be sadly missed by his wife Jean, daughter Jennifer Petit, Kaukauna, brothers and sisters: John (Sue) Petit, Beth Klug, Cheryl (Rick) Hanson, Rene' (Mary) Petit, Joseph (Ann) Petit, Jean's mother Shirley Willems, Jean's siblings Harry (Brenda) Willems, Mark (Carrie) Willems, Sandy (Mike) Hefner and Shawn Willems as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Ben was born in Appleton, on a rainy March 28, 1988, to Steve and Ann Van Handel. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Wilson Middle School and graduated from Appleton West High School in 2006. He then attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and will receive his Bachelor's Degree in Economics with minors in Math and Statistics in May.
Ben loved rainy days, Minneapolis, the Packers and Brewers, his family and friends and sports, for which he had an incredible mind for sports statistics. Because of the loving giving person Ben was, it was his wish to continue giving by donating his organs so that others could enjoy life as much as he did.
In addition to his parents, Ben will be sadly missed by his sister, Rachel; his paternal grandparents, Ray and Marge Van Handel; aunts and uncles, Dan and Debbie Van Handel, Kelly Minten, Sally and Bud Jenks, Jane and Pete Ruckdashel, Bill and Deb Fermanich, Joe and Sally Fermanich, Mary and Dale Youngs, Kevin and Jill Fermanich, Karen and Andy Ratzlaff and Kriss Nett; and cousins, Eric and Lauren Van Handel, Kelsey and Lindsey Minten, Scott, Becky, Emily and Eric Jenks, Katie (Steve) Zurawski, Diane Ruckdashel, Kim (Dan) Gindt, Rob (Wendy) Fermanich, Jessica (Duston) Quandt, Andy (Kim) Fermanich, Molly (Alex) Rambo, Caitlin Fermanich (Josh Peirick), Ellie, Sam, Jenna and David Youngs, Lydia and Wesley Fermanich, Tara, Sam and Megan Ratzlaff, Adam and Kalee Nett. He is also survived by his many friends from Appleton and from the U that he loved dearly and considered his family.
He will be greeted in Heaven by his maternal grandparents, Victor and Hildegarde Fermanich; and his uncles, Kenny and Bob Fermanich.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at ST. BERNARD PARISH (1617 W. Pine St., Appleton) from 2:30 p.m. until the time of Mass at 6:30 p.m. The Rev. Dennis Ryan will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
