    Obituary:
Edward J. Puetz, 83, Hilbert, died on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born Oct. 31, 1927, in Hilbert, son of the late Frank and Margaret (Siegwarth) Puetz. He married Evelyn Klotz on Oct. 8, 1955, at St. John Catholic Church in St. John. They farmed together in the Town of Stockbridge. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2004.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served his country during the Korean War. In his younger years, his mother impressed upon him the value of studying the piano. His patience and practice led him to become a well-versed pianist and he played publicly in the Howie Bowe Band. Ed enjoyed playing Sheepshead and played in many card clubs in the area for many years. He was also a person who read very frequently. The knowledge and insight he gleaned from reading led him to be an excellent conversationalist.
People who ran into Ed were greeted with a warm personality and probably had a good talk. Chances are, if you had an encounter with him, you were unable to get away quickly, but you probably didn't want to since he was a pleasure to be with. Above all, he was known to be a great father to his children. To them, he was everything a father should be. He listened, offered support and advice, and would do anything to make his children's lives better.
He is survived by his son, David Puetz, Hilbert; and four sisters, Peg (Lyle) Tatro, Alice (Bob) Ducat, Mary (Bert) Perry and Jean Puetz. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Steven; and a sister and brother-in-law, Delores (Gene) Riesenweber.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church (Military Rd.) in Stockbridge, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010.
