    Obituary:
God blessed Helen Kloes Schwerbell with a life of over 94 years. Helen was born April 6, 1919 on the Sherwood Family Farm to Eduardo and Cornelia Quella. She attended St. John/Sacred Heart School until the 8th grade and then came to Appleton to serve as a nanny/house keeper for a cousin's family. She went on to hold various jobs as a housekeeper, at Kresge's Food Counter and at Zwicker Knitting Mill. She was pursued by a local photographer to be a model but never believed she was pretty enough. When she was 19 she traveled to San Francisco with her oldest brother. She talked many times about her great adventure. Shortly after she returned she met her first true love, George R. Kloes. They were married July 3, 1941. They were blessed with 4 children. While George served in the Marine Corps during WWII, Helen lived in Appleton with her young son George but did join him for a short time in San Luis Obispo, CA. Helen was George's partner in life and business when they bought Central Delivery, the Mobile Gas Station on Badger and Wisconsin Avenues and Mid City Liquor along with Harry and Lila Ulrich. She also supported George in his work with the Red Smith Banquet. She was the good woman behind a good man! Sadly George's life was cut short in 1975 by cancer.
Mom's angel food and German sweet chocolate cakes, peanut bars and candy were her best treats and her favorite hobby. She also loved to read. Helen was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
On February 25, 1978 she married her second great love, Russell "Jack" Schwerbell. She and Jack were able to spend the best years of retirement together before he died on August 2, 2009.
Mom is survived by her children George "Terry" (Donna) Kloes, Thomas (Shirley) Kloes, Linda (Roy) Fleischman, Robert (Beth) Kloes; stepdaughters Cheryl Roche and Jacqueline (Bill) Munger. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; also by her sister, Susan (Bob) Lee; brother, Jerry Bernice) Quella, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place at 4 pm on Monday at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Deacon Rick Simon officiating. Friends may visit from 2 pm at the funeral chapel until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Lisa Gunderson, ThedaCare Hospice, and the staff of Gardenview Assisted Living for their loving care of Mom.
