    Mrs. Eric D. Lindberg (Winnifred Bell) 1976 Palisades Dr., Appleton
    Age 78. died Wednesday evening following a lengthy illness. She was born June 27.- 1898 in New Richmond. Wisconsin. Mrs. Lindberg was a graduate of Lawrence University and the Conservatory of Music. Her friends will long remember Winnifred for the many hours of pleasure afforded them with her wonderful gift of music. Mr. and Mrs.- Eric Lindberg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 11. 1969. Survivors include a son, John B. Lindberg, Appleton; two sisters: Mrs. Roy (Katherine) Benkert, Des Moines. Iowa; and Mrs. Margaret Doar. Madison; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Her husband, Eric, preceded her in death August 2, 1974. The complete funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at All Saints Episcopal Church, with Father Ralph Stewart officiating. Entombment will beat the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday. Memorials have been established for the All Saints Episcopal Church and the local kidney foundation.

    Johnston Bell Lindberg, Appleton, age 84, was peacefully born into eternal life Sunday, May 2, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. John was born on August 2, 1925, to the late Eric and Winifred (Bell) Lindberg.
    After High School, he proudly served his country in the US Air Force during World War II. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and spent his summers working at Glacier National Park as a forest ranger which fueled his love of nature. On November 27, 1952, John was united in marriage to Carmen Mascarenas. The couple enjoyed over 57 years together. John owned and operated Chemical Supply Company for many years, which he sold to Ashland Chemical Company in 1977. He was a consultant for Ashland for 8 years before retiring in 1985.
    John was an avid sportsman. He excelled in tennis and golf. He won the Fox Cities Amateur golf title in 1968 and the Butte Des Morts Club Championship in 1963. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and all of nature but his greatest love was his family.
    He was a life member of FNAWS, belonged to the Grand Slam Club, Ducks Unlimited, Poygan Land Company, Maine Creek Farm and served on the board of directors at Associated Bank and Butte Des Morts Country Club. John was also a faithful member at St. Bernard Catholic Church and organized the yearly retreats at the Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh WI for nearly 50 years.
    He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Carmen, Appleton; daughter, Karen and her husband John Gibson, Appleton; son Rick and his wife Becky, Appleton; daughter Laura and her husband Tony Van Rooy, Appleton; daughter Suzanne and fiance Joe Hrabik, De Pere; and son John and his wife Kasie, San Diego; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as the many friends who's lives he touched.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday May 5th, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 4th, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida St., Appleton, WI, with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment with full military honors performed by the American Legion Post #38 will take place at Shrine Of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum (Greenlawn Memorial Park), Neenah. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Johns' memory can be directed to his favorite charities; The Jesuit Society, St. Joseph's Food Pantry or The Salvation Army. (He loved to ring the bell at Woodman's.)
