Altergott, Claribel (Billie) Schmidt
Billie Altergott passed away August 5, 2009, at her daughter's home in Mobile AL, after a courageous seven year battle with cancer.
She was born June 15, 1919, in Appleton, to the late Erwin and Mae Schmidt. With her husband, Henry Altergott, they built and operated the Circle Acres mobile home park in Little Chute for many years. They retired to Kiln, MS, to get out of the Wisconsin winters and to be near their daughter. After surviving the effects of Hurricane Katrina, Billie and her daughter relocated to Mobile, AL.
Mom, a great cook, enjoyed cooking unique recipes for family and friends, going to the casino, working crossword puzzles, and spending time at Mayflower Lake in the Wittenberg/Birnamwood area. She loved having fun, especially with her family.
Survivors include her son, Mark (Sandy) Altergott, Kaukauna; and daughter, Marlene (David) Ladner, Mobile, AL. Grandchildren, Brett (Heidi) Altergott and Abby Altergott, both from Oak Creek, WI. Great-grandchildren, Chase, Logan, and Hannah Altergott. A brother, Lloyd Schmidt, Storres, CN. A brother-in-law, Harvey (Elise) Altergott, Vienna MA. A sister-in-law, Helene Huver, Minneapolis, MN. And a family friend, Randy Stigman.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry in 2002 and two brothers, Earl and Harold.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and share memories during an open house at the residence of her son, 1601 Plum Tree Ct, Kaukauna, Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 1 to 4 p.m.
