    Mrs. Chester E. Gardner (Hildegarde Dorn) 805 W. Hawes Avenue Age 77, passed away Wednesday morning unexpectedly. She was born April 3, 1914 in the Town of Ellington and had been an Appleton area resident all of her adult life. She married Chester July 9, 1935. They had been married for 56 years. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Chester E.; a daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Robert Handt, Appleton; three grandchildren: Gregg, Noelle and her husband, Jon Hauser; and Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Leland; a brother, Arnold Dorn; two sisters: Margaret Bley and Mary Dorn. Complete funeral services will be Friday, September 6, 1991 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Catholic Church with Father William Van Oss officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday (tonight) and from 9 a.m. Friday until the cortege leaves for the church. A prayer service will be 7:30 Thursday evening (tonight).

    Obituary:
    Carol Mae Handt, 63, died unexpectedly at Appleton Medical Center on Friday, June 29, 2007, following surgical complications. Carol was born on Sept. 11, 1943, in Appleton to the late Chester and Hildegarde (Dorn) Gardner. She married Robert N. Handt on Feb. 16, 1963, in Winchester; he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2001. Carol was employed at Kimberly Clark for a number of years prior to her career as a homemaker. In 1992, she began her career at Pitney Bowes in its Customer Service Department, retiring in March of 2007. She enjoyed bowling, card playing, reading, gardening and especially her cat, Mike.
    Survivors include her son, Gregg (Holly) Handt, and their children, Felicia (and her daughter, Myranda) and Danielle, Seymour; her daughter, Noelle (Jon) Hauser, and their children, Bryan and Christopher, and Gary Handt, Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her brother, LeLand.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with the Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday, July 2, 2007, from 5-7 p.m. and again on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
