    Alma J. Brandt, 91, formerly of Greenleaf, was called home by her Savior Sept. 30, 2010, at Colony Oaks Care Center in Appleton.
    She was born Jan. 25, 1919, in the Town of Cato, to the late Knute and Emma (Anderson) Bergene. She married Harold Brandt Sept. 19, 1942, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greenleaf.
    Alma graduated from Valders High School with the Class of 1937. She worked at Maple Crest Sanitarium, until her marriage to Harold. She cherished her life as a housewife and mother to their two children, Richard and Kay. Alma worked at the shoe factory in Wrightstown for many years until she and Harold moved to the farm. She enjoyed working outdoors and farming. Her favorite things to do included reading, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Alma was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greenleaf, and St. Paul's Ladies Aid, where she grew in faith and developed many lifelong friendships. She also served as a Sunday school teacher for 18 years.
    She will be dearly missed by her son, Richard and his wife, Jean, Greenleaf; her daughter, Kay and her husband, Gary Fecteau, New London; her grandchildren, Bill (Michelle) Brandt, Greenleaf; Lisa (Rick) Ley, Greenleaf; Troy (Micki) Fecteau, Bear Creek; Erin (Jack) Vande Guchte, New London; Nina (Paul) Kuphall, Hustisford will miss her kind and loving ways; great-grandchildren, Bonnie and Julie Smith, Matt and Kaira Brandt, Taya and Granton Fecteau and Jaun Vande Guchte who will also miss their loving grandma; step-grandchildren, Lori Bresnahan, Lisa Smith, Leslie Smith, Linda Berge, Leanne Smith and Allen Smith; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1989; one great- granddaughter, Noel Brandt; two sisters, Bertha Wachtel and Ruth Van Lannen; four brothers, Edward, Albert, Norman and Kenneth Bergene.
    Friends may call on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Nickel Funeral Home, 7101 Morrison Road, Morrison and after 9:30 a.m., Monday, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1537 Day Street, Greenleaf until time of service. Funeral service 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Jan Eggert officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
    The family would like to thank the caregivers at Colony Oaks Care Center and Southern Care Hospice who were especially kind and gave Mom comfort in her last days. We are also thankful for Rosie Laabs, her long time friend.

    Richard H. Brandt, 68, Greenleaf, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at his residence. He was born April 17, 1943, in Green Bay to the late Harold and Alma Bergene Brandt. Richard married Jean Ann Gruenstern (Smith) on September 27, 2003, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greenleaf. He was a retired dairy farmer and a former employee of Thilmany's and Ariens Company. Richard enjoyed his motorcycle and watching car races.
    Survivors include his wife, Jean; his children: Bill (Michelle) Brandt, Lisa (Rick) Ley; step children: Lori Bresnahan, Lisa Smith, Leslie (Matt) Abate, Allen Smith, Linda (Michael) Berge and Leanne Smith; 13 precious grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Gary Fecteau; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Raymond (Linda) Gruenstern, Terry Gruenstern and special friend, Darcey, Jeff Gruenstern, Ron (Carlene) Gruenstern; sisters-in-law: Ann (Tim) Tynan, Nancy Gruenstern and special friend, Paul Arnoldussen; Mother-in-law, Marion Gruenstern, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Noel Brandt.
    Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1537 Day St., Greenleaf until time of service. Funeral service 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Jan Eggert officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
    Words cannot express our gratitude to Unity Hospice for all the loving care extended to Dick.
    Dad, you did so much for all of us. Thanks for always being there when I needed you. I know you worried about how we would all get by when you had to move on and so did I. We're all gonna be OK, Dad and it's because of you. Say "hello" to all of our grandparents, friends and relatives that are up there waiting for you. The weather is going to be perfect all the time now, Dad -- get on your Harley and ride as fast as you want. Everything is gonna be alright. I love you and I will see you later, Dad. Bill
