    Richard William (Dick) Thein, Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012. Memorial services were Sunday, March 4, 2012. He was born May 10, 1932 in Kimberly, WI. Dick spent 24 years in the US Navy, he retired in 1977 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, was a plank owner on the USS Tecumesh, SSBN-628, a fleet ballistic missile submarine, and on DVS-3 Turtle & Seacliff, research & rescue submarines. He sold real estate with J.C. Nichols and Reece & Nichols. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Dian, son Rick (Lisa) Thein, Jr., daughters; Michele Thein and Catherine Sturns, grandchildren; Amberly Sonsiadek, Cassie Thein, Liz Risko, Sarah and Bobbie Sturns, Emily Thein, Savannah Allen, Austin Allen and Dakota Thein, great-grandchildren; Duke and Calen Sonsiadek, Laney and Wyatt Craycraft, brother, Louis (Mary) Thein, Jr., sister, Lois (Jim) Eley. Dick was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie, his parents, Louis and Irene Thein, sisters and brother-in-laws, Josephine (Louis) Vosters, Marge (Henry) Wiegand, Bernadine (Norman) Bauhs, Louella (Cliff) Marron and brother, Edward (Ruth) Thein.
