    Farrell, Thomas R. (Tom) Thomas R. (Tom) Farrell, 78, a lifelong Green Bay resident, died March 3 0, 2005. He was born Sept. 28, 1926, son of the late Thomas R. and Lulu (F ournier) Farrell. Tom married the former Jean Van Beek of Green Bay, on Ju ne 13, 1957. Tom was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly serv ed during World War II, and again served two years during the Korean confl ict. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Tom was a g raduate of Green Bay West High School, 1944, the University of Wisconsin-S tevens Point, 1957, and received his Master's Degree from Purdue Universi ty 1965. He taught in the Green Bay School System for many years and retir ed in 1988. He then taught classes at the Northeastern Technical Colle ge in Green Bay, and for over 30 years he taught Hunter's Safety to thousa nds of students in the Green Bay area. He was a skilled hunter and trapp er and enjoyed spending time at these sports with his brothers. Tom w as a member of St. Bernard Catholic Parish for over 40 years. Tom is survived by his wife, Jean; his son, John (Susan) Farrell, Minneapo lis, Minn.; one grandson, Shane who was Tom's pride and joy. He leaves o ne sister, Dorothy Obecunas, and five brothers, John (Elaine), Patrick (Ma rion), Michael (Jane), Jeremiah (Jean), and Gary (Shirley); a sister-in-la w, Beverly Van Beek; and a special aunt, "Mugsie" Cygan. He also leav es a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one brother, James. Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane on Sat urday, April 2 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at t he church with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating.
