Obituary:
Doran, Helen L.Helen L. Doran, 90, Marinette, passed away peacefully surrounded by her fa mily at home on Tuesday, July 18, 2006. She was born on April 18, 191 6, to the late John and Louise (Janssen) Leigeois in Marinette. She gradua ted from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1935. She married George Dor an on Feb. 23, 1946, in Marinette. He preceded her in death in Februa ry of 1988. Together they owned and operated Doran Upholstery for 35 year s. She was also an executive secretary at Ansul for many years. Her childr en describe her as a strong, independent woman who treasured time spent wi th her children and grandchildren. Though she enjoyed family travel excurs ions around the country her greatest joy in life was maintaining the fami ly home as a center for many family gatherings. She is survived by her children, Cathy (Greg) LaForme, Stow, Ohio; Tom (Ka thy), Madison; and Betsy (Steve) Erickson, Wales, Wis.; two sisters, Rosal ie Beckham, Rohnert Park, Calif.; and Mary (Bob) Schuchart, Marinett e; 11 grandchildren, Bill LaForme, Adam (Andrea) LaForme, Alyssa (Dan) Fis s, Caity (Peter Doksus) Doran, Rebecca Doran, Lucas Doran, Jeremy (Tris h) Erickson, Megan, Kristin, Chelsea, and Nick Erickson.In addition to her husband, George, a son, Phil, a daughter, Jane, two bro thers, and a sister preceded her in death.Friends may call on Friday July 21, from 9:30 a.m. until time of servic es at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Taylor Street in Marinette. A funer al Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Dorner officiating. B urial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting t he family (715) 732-2151.A memorial fund has been established for the Bay Area Medical Center Oncol ogy Dept.
