    Obituary:
De Pere - Patricia Ann (Geurts) VanDenHeuvel, 86, passed quietly with all of her children at her side early Wednesday morning. She was born on August 30, 1931 to the late Elmer and Lillian Geurts. Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. God will be happy to open his arms to this spiritual woman as she joins Ray, her husband, friend, and partner in life.
Pat and Ray met in their early 20's and forged a union that would bring many children, families, and people much joy. They were married on August 15, 1953. They were best friends and could always be found sitting right next to each other wherever they went.
Together, they enjoyed family parties, weddings and vacations. They never missed a birthday party, graduation, or first communion of a grandchild or great-grandchild.
Pat was known for her strong support of the family businesses. She was always there to lend a hand, and she was a great listener for anyone who needed her.
Throughout the 60's, 70's, and 80's, she was active in Little League, Homemakers, St. Boniface Home and School, and countless other organizations that she helped. However, the most memorable activity of this selfless woman was her "grandchild birthday lunch" on their birthdays. The entire office staff of the local schools knew 'Grandma Pat' as she would drive up to pick up grandchildren, and great grandchildren, several times each month.
Pat was also very proud of her service to her country. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corps in February of 1950. After completing Basic Training at Fort Lee, VA, mom became Secretary to the Deputy of Commission Services in Ft. Mammoth, N.J. where she stayed until she was assigned for overseas duty in Germany in December of 1951. She was honorably discharged in March of 1953.
Pat is survived by the children that she selflessly devoted her life to: Ron (Kelly) VanDenHeuvel, Ann (Pat) Murphy, Dave (Sandy) VanDenHeuvel, Steve (Bambi) VanDenHeuvel, Raymond II (Julie) VanDenHeuvel, Jane (Butch) Piontek, Tim (Britney) VanDenHeuvel, and Pattie (Craig) Kassner.
Pat is further survived by her grandchildren: Ronnie (Tara), Ryan (Erin), Kristie (Pat), Henry, Kate, Pat, Brian (Amy), Stacie, Stephanie (Matt), Caithlin (Taylor), Brooke (Mike), Bobby, Matt, Alicia (James), Todd (Nicole), Brian, Alex (Grace), Cameron (Katie), Kyle, Raymond III (Becca), Brandon, Dalton, Melody, Ashley, Jake, Alley, Courtney (Jared), Valerie (Rob), Matt (Liz), Chandler (Olivia), Austin (Emelia), and Dayton. Pat is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marge Geurts and Dorothy VanDenHeuvel; and brother-in-law Bob Mommaerts. Pat also has 35 1/2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Our beloved family Matriarch will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
In addition to Ray, and her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Roger; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Marie VanDenHeuvel; her sister-in-law, Joanie Mommaerts; two brothers-in-law, Melvin & Richard VanDenHeuvel, and an infant grandson Hayden.
Family and friends may visit at RYAN FUNERAL Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00PM - 7:00PM Sunday April 22, 2018. Visitation will continue after 9:00AM Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere until 10:15AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM with Fr. Benny Jacob O.Praem. and Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen officiating. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
All memorial donations will be directed to Syble Hoppe School.
The children of Pat VanDenHeuvel wish to thank the wonderful people at Bellin Memorial Hospital.
