    Obituary:
Ronald (Ron) Penn Vieau was taken into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, February 10, 2013, unexpectedly after a short illness. He was surrounded by his beloved wife and children in the hour of his passing. Ron was born on August 25, 1947 to his loving parents, Hollis and Marie Vieau. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School and graduated from West De Pere High School. Following graduation, Ron proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force where he was an airplane mechanic stationed in Laos. When Ron returned from the service, he ventured to California. After many laughs and wonderful times, Ron returned to the Green Bay area where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Jean (nee) Ciesielczyk. They were married on October 27, 1972 at St. Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church in Green Bay. Ron and Elizabeth (Betty) built their life in Ashwaubenon where they raised their two beautiful children, Penn and Durell. Ron's wife and children meant the world to him. He actively participated and supported his children in all their interests and activities. He was a role model and coach for his positive outlook on life, ability to be a great listener and his appreciation of others. In 2005, within three weeks of each other, he had the joy of seeing both of his children marry. Penn's wife Katherine (nee) Helke and Durell's husband Ron Jankowski were welcomed into the family with open arms. And just last year, Ron and Betty celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary vacationing in Cancun, Mexico with their family.
Ron worked at Valley Unit Step and retired in 2008 after 37 years of service. Shortly thereafter, he came out of retirement and took a part time job with Advance Industrial Machine for the last three years which gave him a great deal of enjoyment.
Ron loved to help others. He had a kind and generous heart and would do anything for anyone. Ron greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved going out for Friday night fish fries, vacationing with his family, relaxing by the pool and socializing with others. He was an avid Badgers, Packers, Brewers and Phoenix fan. He enjoyed going to Packers and Brewers games and tailgating with his good friends. He also enjoyed sharing courtside seats with his wife at the UWGB men's basketball games. He loved listening to music, reading, cooking, doing the daily crossword puzzle, watching Monday night football with the guys, exercising at the fitness center and planning class reunions.
In 2010, Ron was blessed with an adorable grandson, Brady. Brady was his pride and joy. Ron and Betty made many trips to Texas to visit. Ron would spend many hours playing, singing songs and reading stories to his grandson.
Ron will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his beloved wife Betty, his children Penn (Katherine) of Waunakee, Durell (Ron) and grandson Brady of Southlake, TX. In addition, his mother-in-law Virginia Ciesielczyk of Seymour, his brothers and sisters Mary Vande Hei of Appleton, Mike (Marge) Vieau of De Pere, Durell (Bob) DeVos of De Pere, Roy (Lois) Vieau of De Pere and Pat (Kay) Vieau of Green Bay, his brothers and sisters-in-law Helen (Dewey) Moore of Oshkosh, Jerome (Barb) Ciesielczyk of Shawano, Jane (Larry) Skinkis of Black Creek, Bob (Barb) Ciesielczyk of Seymour, Jim (Renee) Ciesielczyk of Oak Creek, Lynn (Chet) Kizewski of Wisconsin Rapids, his godchildren Ruth Shirk, Visalia, CA, Andy Vande Hei, Hartford, Joe DeVos, De Pere and Paul Skinkis, Albany, OR, his Aunt Dolores and Uncle Stan Rupiper, Lake Tahoe, CA, and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron will join his father, Hollis, his mother, Marie, his father-in-law, Edward Ciesielczyk, his brother-in-law, Harvey Vande Hei, and his niece, Laura Skinkis in Heaven.
Friends and family may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere after 3:00 PM on Friday, February 15, with a parish prayer service at 7:30 PM to bring the evening to a close.
