    Obituary:
    Duane Coenen, 82, Neenah, passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born May 1, 1928, in Neenah, Wis., son of the late Norbert and Myrtle Paulson Coenen. Duane graduated from Neenah High School in 1946. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Armored Division. On May 2, 1953, he was united in marriage to Donna Beaudo and celebrated 57 years. Along with his father and brother, Duane owned and operated Checker Moving & Storage and Checker Warehousing from 1948 until 1999. Following the sale of the business, Duane enjoyed driving for Ryder. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Neenah. Duane belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Boys Brigade, and was a volunteer on the maintenance committee for St. Margaret Mary and Habitat for Humanity.

    Duane will be remembered for his kindness and gentle ways. He was a great husband, father, grandfather. He was a provider, mentor, had a great zest for life and treasured spending time with his family. Duane enjoyed skiing, hunting, attending Green Bay Packers games, bowling, traveling, the cottage and riding his John Deere lawn mower.
    Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Mary (Don) Schaning, Sheboygan, WI, their children, Brian and Stephanie; Paul (Sue) Coenen, Neenah, their children, Shawn and Erin; Tom (Dawn) Coenen, Neenah, their children, Kyle and Christa; Karen (Steve) Beckerleg, Verona, WI, their children, Adam and Anna; Laura Ryan, Manitou Springs, CO; Michael (Jill) Coenen, Neenah; Mark (Linda) Coenen, Neenah, and daughter Breana. He is further survived by his brother, Jim (Bev) Coenen, Neenah; sister-in-law, Nelda Kolosso, Appleton, WI; nieces & nephews, Jim and Andy Kolosso, Cathy Pearson, Steve and David Coenen. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, James Kolosso.
    Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, with Rev. Michael L. Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah.
    Visitation will be held at the KESSLER FUNERAL HOME, 304 S. COMMERCIAL STREET, Neenah, from 1 to 4 P.M. TUESDAY. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial donations can be made to St. Margaret Mary grade school. Military honors will be performed by members of the U.S. Army following the services at the church.
