    Bruyette, Esther May (nee Kotz)
    Esther May Bruyette, age 92, of Appleton, died on July 10, 2011, at Peabody Manor, Appleton, Wisconsin.
    Esther May was born to Harry and Esther Kotz in the Town of Grand Chute on May 30, 1919. She spent her childhood years on the family farm with her parents, three sisters and one brother. In 1937, Esther May graduated from Appleton High School. She wed Park J. Bruyette in 1941, and together, they celebrated fifty-three years of marriage. In addition to being a devoted wife and loving mother of three, Esther May volunteered at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Appleton Memorial Hospital and Edison Elementary School. During her adult life, she enjoyed dancing, sewing and knitting, and spent countless hours painting with oils and acrylics. Esther May especially loved watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoy the family lake cottage.
    Esther May is survived by two children: James P. Bruyette of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Jeanne (Steven) Bailey of Green Bay, Wisconsin; her sister: Margurite (Robert "Bud") Hoeppner of Spring Hill, Florida; a daughter-in-law: Mary Bruyette of Waupaca, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and her dear friend, Edward Jurek of Appleton, Wisconsin.
    In addition to her parents, Esther May was preceded in death by her husband, Park; son, John; brother, Robert; sisters, Ruth (Hollis) Whitman and Dorothy (George) Thompson; daughter-in-law, Merrie Bob (James) Bruyette; and great grandson, Max Bruyette.
    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Highland Memorial Park Chapel, 3131 North Richmond Street, Appleton, WI. Friends and family will be received in the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund for the American Cancer Society has been established.

    Bruyette, John J.
    John J. Bruyette, age 56, of Waupaca, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Appleton on January 17, 1952, the son of Park and Esther May (Kotz) Bruyette. He was united in marriage to Mary Orton on July 3, 1976, in Lancaster, WI. They celebrated 32 years of marriage this summer.
    John graduated from Appleton East High School in 1970, then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. He worked for Office Technology, Inc. in Neenah from 1982 until his retirement in 2007. John lived in Appleton for 52 years until he and Mary relocated to their summer cottage in Waushara County. He had a life-long love of the outdoors, especially downhill skiing, swimming, landscaping and bird watching.
    John was a passionate family man; a loving and loyal husband, father, son, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Mary, Waupaca; two children: Anne Bruyette, Peoria, IL; John Bruyette, Stevens Point. He also leaves behind his mother, Esther May Bruyette, Appleton; brother, James Bruyette, Sheboygan; and sister, Jeanne (Steve) Bailey, Green Bay. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    Preceding John in death were his father, Park; and sister-in-law, Merrie Bob Bruyette.
    A celebration of John's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008, at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Family and friends may gather from 1-3 p.m. It was John's wish that a memorial fund be established for the American Cancer Society.
