    Obituary:
    Shiocton - Paul A. Hooyman, 57, of Shiocton, passed away on February 13, 2018, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee following a brief illness. He was born on October 15, 1960, son of the late Herbert and Agnes (Peeters) Hooyman.
    Paul graduated from Shiocton High School.
    He was a long-time member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Shiocton and worked at Sturm Foods in Manawa.
    On April 16, 1983 he was united in marriage to Connie Samson, celebrating nearly 35 years as a happily married couple.
    Paul was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, put out set lines, and anything else he could do outside. Spending time in his swimming pool with friends and family was one of his favorite things to do in the summer. He loved to make people laugh and always had a smile on his face. Paul was quick to help anyone in need.
    He is survived by wife Connie; children: Tony (Sarah) Hooyman, Rachel (Mike) Krueger, and Austin Hooyman; grandchildren: Lillian, and two more expected; siblings: Jim (Joy) Hooyman, Jerry (Lorraine) Hooyman, Mary Sue (John) Schmude, Jean (Jerome) Schroth, Rita (Dan) Schroth, Elaine (Dan) Conradt, Carla (Allan) Chizek, Bill Hooyman, and Bonnie Hooyman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Rose Samson; brothers-in-law, Ken Samson and Randy (Bonny) Samson; sister-in-law, Linda (Don) Stefanic; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Robert and Francis; sister, Joan Hooyman.
    Friends may call at Messiah Lutheran Church, W7574 State Hwy 54, Shiocton on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the church from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Bradley Ragner officiating. Burial will take place at the Bovina Cemetery, Shiocton.
    Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at ThedaCare Appleton Medical Center and to the MICU staff at Froedtert for the compassionate care given to Paul during his short illness. Online condolences to Paul's family may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
