Gregory J. Hartjes Age 94 years. Born to eternal life on January 27, 2001. Beloved husba nd of the late Aleta (nee Schwerke). Loving father of Jean (Robert) Fr ey of Greendale, Wisconsin, and Janet (David) Fary of Columbia, South Caro lina. Dear grandpa of Michael (Eileen) Frey of Madison, Wisconsin; Stev en (Amy) Frey of Greenfield, Wisconsin; Kathleen (Steven) Schmidt of New B erlin, Wisconsin; Greg (Yvonne) Fary of Columbia, South Carolina, and Sa ra Watson of Charleston, South Carolina. Dear brother-in-law of Olive Hart jes of Appleton, Wisconsin. Greg was preceded in death by five brothers a nd two sisters. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and f riends. Funeral service Wednesday 11:30 a.m. at ST. THOMAS MORE CHURCH, AP PLETON, corner of Glendale and McDonald streets. Private interment Applet on Highland Memorial Park. Greg enjoyed playing sports, having played semi -pro football in the Fox Valley for 18 years, coached high school footba ll several years and umpired for the city recreational softball leagues f or many years. He was a member of the Appleton McDowell Male Chorus for ma ny years. He was also a member of St. Thomas More Parish and the Quarter C entury Club of the Appleton Post-Crescent. Visitation Wednesday 10-11:15 a .m. AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Thomas More Pari sh appreciated.
