    MARGARET KRONSCHNABEL 5 03 N. Durkee St.Age 87 passed away at 10:45 Friday evening after a long illness. She was b orn Dec. 7, 1872 in Belgium, Wis., and lived in Appleton for the past 30 y ears. Mrs. Kronschnabel was a member of St. Therese church, Christian Moth ers Society and the Third Order of St. Francis. Survivors include 5 daught ers, Mrs. Mat Huhn, Sherwood, Mrs. Helen Rose, Coldwater, Ohio, Miss Marga ret, Appleton, Mrs. Joseph Bosch, Green Bay and Mrs. Clark Carnes, East Au rora, N. Y., 6 sons, A. L., Tonasket, Wash., George J., Menasha, Cyril E ., Milwaukee, Clarnence, Bakersfield, Cal., Norbert, Memphis, Tenn. and An thony, Oshgosh, 3 sisters, Mrs. Marie Wiltgen, Elmwood Park, Ill., Mrs W m. Stern Sr., New London and Mrs. Charles Fisher, Appleon, 55 grandchildre n, 77 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Friends may ca ll at the Brettschneider Funeral home, Appleton, from 2 p.m. Sunday unt il the hour of services which will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Therese chur ch, the cortege forming at 8:30 a.m. at Brettschneider Funeral home. Buri al will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Black Creek. Rosary will be said at 7: 30 and at 8 o'clock Sunday evening at the funeral home.

    MRS. MATT HUHN, (Felice Kronschnabel), N. 492 Meehl St., Sherwood Age 82, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday following a three year illness. She w as born July 9, 1899 in Black Creek and had been a Sherwood resident sin ce 1946. Mrs. Huhn had been employed as an operator for the Sherwood-Stock bridge Telephone Company for 15 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Ca tholic Church, Sherwood, the St. Ann's Society and the Sherwood Senire Cit izens. Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Eugene (Rita) Schneider, Po rt Edward; Mrs. Eugene (Ruth) Maurer, Mrs. Joseph (Carole) Diederich and M rs. Orlando (Grace) Bauer, all of Sherwood; Mrs. Robert (Helen) Schepferli ng, Mosinee; three sons: Tom Huhn, Neenah; Dave Huhn, Kimberly; Dennis Huh n, Appleton; three brothers; Anthony Kronschnabel, Oshkosh; Cyril Kronschn abel, Green Bay; Clarence Kronschnabel, Bakersfield, California; three sis ters: Mrs. Annette Bosch, Green Bay; Miss Margaret Kronschnabel, Appleto n; Mrs. Helen Rose, Coldwater, Ohio; 25 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchi ldren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matt, in 1968, five broth ers and a sister. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Hea rt Catholic Church, Sherwood, with the Rev. Ken Frozena officiating. Inter nment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Friends may ca ll at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday and after 8 a. m. Saturday until the cortege leaves for the church. A prayer and scriptu re service will be held 8 p.m. Friday.

    GENEVIEVE RUTH CARNES, 779 E. Fillmore Ave, East Aurora, New York Formerly of Appleton, died March 22 1981 at her home. She was born Septemb er 23, 1913 in Black Creek, Wisconsin. While at Appleton High School, Mr s. Carnes gained local and national prominence in women's sports. Late r, at the University of Wisconisn at La Crosse, she was a star athlete a nd received degrees in physical education and science. In 1936 she and a f emale companion made history as the first two women to alone paddle the Mi ssissippi River from its source in Lake Itaska, Minnesota, 800 miles do wn river to La Crosse in a time of slightly over 22 days. As f ar as it is known, this record still stands. In 1959, as president of t he Appleton PTA, she developed and published a students' code of conduc t, which was adopted in many school systems across the United States. S he had two careers in teaching: one in the Appleton and Neenah school syst ems and another in the East Aurora school system as a substitute. She atte nded the University of Buffalo as a graduate student in Anthropology.Survivors include her husband, F. Clark Carnes; two sons; Scott and Jame s; four sisters: Mrs. Helen Rose; Mrs. Felica Huhn; Margaret Kronschnabe l; Mrs. Annette Bosch; three brothers: Cyril, Clarence and Anthony Kronsna bel. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Kronsch nabel, and a son Douglas B. Carnes. A memorial service was Saturday, Mar ch 28, at 10 a.m. at the Kenneth Howe Funeral Home, Inc., with Mr. Robe rt Carnes officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Appleto n. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Mary's Church, Black Creek, at 10: 30 a.m., Saturday, April 4.     Anne Elizabeth was born to George Edward and Ellen Gertrude (Hardy) Kronschnabel in Kimberly, Wisconsin on May 31, 1923. She served in the US Navy during WWII and met Cornelius (Casey) Hermus on the train returning home from the war. They were married at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha, Wisconsin on September 27, 1947.

She was born September 27, 1930 in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late Matthew and Felice (Kronschnabel) Huhn. On September 17, 1952 Carole married Joe Diederich at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. The couple lived in Sherwood their entire married lives. She operated Carole's Beauty Salon for over 40 years from her home. Carole enjoyed snowmobiling, sturgeon spearing, making cherry bounce, and also armchair coaching the Packers and Brewers. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Legion Auxiliary, and "The Red Hats".

    David L. Huhn, of Kimberly, age 69, died on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on February 1, 1938, in Black Creek, son of the late Mathias and Felice (Kronschnabel) Huhn. On April 30, 1960, David married Shirley Towne at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. The couple lived in Sherwood for nine years, moving to Kimberly in 1970. David was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary High School, Menasha. He was employed for 37 years at Appleton Mills (now Voith) retiring in 1996. David was a Jr. Bowling Coach in Kimberly for 15 years. He was an avid reader, bowler, golfer and enjoyed a good game of gin. He loved music, baseball, spending time with his grandchildren, sharing a good joke, and being at the lake. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly.
    He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Towne) Huhn; his children: Christine Huhn, Huntington, WV; Melissa and Scott Schlack, Neenah; and Matthew and Shawn Huhn, Appleton; grandchildren: Ian and Emma Huhn, and Nina Schlack; sisters: Rita Schneider, Port Edwards; Carole (Joe) Diederich and Grace Bauer, all of Sherwood; and Helen (Robert) Schipferling, Mosinee; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Gene Maurer, Sherwood; Mary Huhn, Neenah; and Rose Huhn, Appleton. He is further survived by his wife's family: Nancy (Gary) Strebe, Appleton; Karen (Ken) Uhland, Pulaski; and Larry Getchel, Pickerel; and Howard Gaudette, Florida, many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his infant son, Lee David; a sister, Ruth Maurer; brothers, Tom and Dennis Huhn; brothers-in-law: Eugene Schneider and Orly Bauer. He was further preceded in death by Shirley's family: mother and father-in-law, Ben and Lenora (Barden) Towne; Bette (Tom) Roberts, Carol Gaudette, Nila Getchel and Robert Towne.

    Dennis C. Huhn, Appleton; Age 60 p assed away suddenly on Thursday, December 7, 2000 at his home. He was bo rn on February 3, 1940 in Black Creek the son of the late Matthias and Fel icita (Kronschnabel) Huhn. On March 18, 1980 he married Rosalie Reed in Ap pleton. He was currently employed as an auto mechanic for Gustman Chevrol et in Kaukauna for the past 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary Cathol ic Church in Appleton, and was an avid Packer fan and also enjoyed bowlin g.     Gerald (Jerry) Kronschnabel, De Pere, 84 years young, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 22, 2015. He was born May 5, 1931 to the late Clarence and Dorothy Kronschnabel. On June 2, 1951 he was united in marriage to Darlene Doughty at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenville. Jerry had managed numerous dairy farms in Brown, Outagamie, Waukesha, and Polk Counties. He then went on to pursue an advanced career in the dairy industry. As a national sales manager with Germania Dairy Automation, he traveled throughout the country, as well as to Canada and Japan. While at Germania, he developed a product which was patented. After retirement, Jerry volunteered his time and talents at numerous places, including St. Vincent Hospital, Life Line, Green Bay Writers Club, Wisconsin Regional Writers Association, and Council for Wisconsin Writers, for which he served on the boards. Jerry was also a member of Green Bay Wood Workers Guild, Abbot Pennings Council 3955 of the Knights of Columbus, and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family. Also after retirement Jerry went into intarsia woodworking, of which he made many beautiful pieces.
    He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Darlene, his children; Robert Kronschnabel, Minneapolis; Patricia (Roy) LaCombe, Maricopa, AZ; Jean (Bill) Williams, Columbia, (MO); and Mari Krahn, Blaine, MN. Jerry is further survived by 6 grandchildren; Sarah (Steven) Cummings, Seattle, WA; Rachel Williams (Brandon Elliott), Shawnee, KS; Chrissy Williams, Joplin, MO; John (Ellyn) Williams, Rock Springs, WY; Elizabeth (Chad) Stenson, North Branch, MN; and Andrew Krahn, Glendale, WI.     Appleton - Dolores Mary Semrow Griffiths, 84, was taken to her eternal rest on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in Appleton, WI. She was born on April 29, 1933, to Clarence and Dorothy (Huhn) Kronschnabel. As a child Dolores lived in several locations around the Fox River Valley before graduating Salutatorian of her high school class in Shiocton in 1950.
    Dolores enjoyed using her God-given gift of voice. She was active in church choirs for many years and served as soloist for a number of weddings and church functions. Over the years she loved sewing, golfing, watching the Packers, card games and time with friends and family. Above all, though, was her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
    Dolores married Lloyd Semrow on September 26, 1953 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Freedom, where together they managed a farm for many years. In addition to farming, Dolores worked outside the home as an Executive Secretary for Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Managing a work/life balance was one of her many gifts. Following Lloyd's passing from cancer in 1983, Dolores moved to Irving, TX to continue her career with Kimberly-Clark. While in Texas she met and married Raymond Baum. They moved to Las Vegas in 1992, where Ray died in 1997. In 1999 Dolores returned to her Wisconsin roots where she became reacquainted with Robert Griffiths. They were married April 20, 2001.
    Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Gerald and Paul, and her first husband, Lloyd.
    Dolores is survived by her four children: Terry (Carol) Semrow, Layton, UT; Kathy (Curt) Campbell, Mesa, AZ; Jim (Denise) Semrow, New London, WI; and David (Sarah) Semrow of Bentonville, AR; along with six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband Robert, and four step-children: Thomas (Cheryl) Griffiths, Mosinee, WI; Steven (Beth) Griffiths, Burlington, VT; Ann (Joe) Probst, Appleton, WI; Jon (Cari) Griffiths, St. Francis, WI; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, siblings Therese Cooper, Fruita, CO; Paul (Ilene) Kronschnabel, Dousmann, WI; Daniel (Paula) Kronschnabel, Aurora, MO; and Margaret (Bob) Evans, Fruita, CO.

    Kronschnabel, Michael Cyril
    72, died peacefully on February 8, 2012 after a long, brave battle with skin necrosis and other medical complications. Born in Kenosha, WI, on Mar. 5, 1939, to the late Leo and Rita Kronschnabel, he later served in the US Army, stationed in Huntsville, AL. Following military service, he worked at the NRL and the NSA for over 34 years. While with the NSA, he was awarded for Meritorious Civilian Service for establishing instant, worldwide satellite communications. He traveled extensively for the DoD, finally retiring in Dec 1995. He founded Telecommunications Acquisition Consultants (TAC) in MD and AZ. An ordained Roman Catholic deacon (1983), he served in AZ at St. Mark's, St. Mary's, and the Diocesan Prison Ministry in Maricopa County jails. He was active in Catholic Men's Ministry and Faith Sharing groups, as well as the Knights of Columbus in MD, where is was membership chairman and newsletter editor. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Antoinette Yim; four children: Eric (Debi), Christine Galvin (Ken), Roderick (Eloise) and Peter (Lourdes); sisters, Monica Bissen (Patrick) and Judith Kinney (Lawrence), and 15 grandchildren. He passionately loved God, family and country. He also enjoyed fishing and camping, construction projects, scuba diving, and going to movies. Visitation will be at 9:30 am, Mon., Feb. 13, at St. Mary's Church, 230 W. Galveston St., Chandler, AZ, prior to the Mass at 10:30 am, also at the church.
