Obituary:
Viola Hellermann Becker, Menasha, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2007. Born on November 22, 1911, in Neillsville, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Emma (Radke) Hellermann, she moved to Neenah in 1912, graduated from Neenah High School, attended the School of Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was an Appleton Post-Crescent reporter for ten years, and later was employed in the Advertising Department of Marathon Corporation. On May 23, 1953, she married Ronald A. Becker, who preceded her in death on October 29, 1968.
Through this marriage, she became the mother to two daughters who were blessed to have her in their lives: Sarah "Sally" (Alcide H.) DeLisle, Gainesville, GA; and Sue C. (David L.) Erdmann, Menasha. Viola was a Christian woman who loved her family, especially her grandchildren: A. Josef (Reynolds) DeLisle, Decatur, GA; Daisy (Brian) Watson, Marietta, GA; Christina (Drew) Catron, Shoreview, MN; and Katherine (Eric) Dehn, De Pere, WI; and also her great-grandchildren: Henry and Samuel DeLisle, Samuel Catron, and William and Emily Dehn. She is also survived by a loving brother, Eugene (LaReine) Hellermann, Park Ridge, IL; and a niece and two nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Hellermann.
Services of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Lutheran Church, 829 Appleton Road, Menasha. Visitation will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for Bethel Lutheran Church.
