Schroeder, Ruth B.
Ruth B. Schroeder, 92, Appleton, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center. She was born Feb. 13, 1916, in the Town of Ellington, the daughter of the late Herman and Delia (Langholtz) Riehl. Ruth had resided for most of her life in Appleton. She was formerly employed at Tuttle Press and then at W.T. Grant Co. for many years, retiring in 1975. On Nov. 28, 1936, she was united in marriage to Clifton Schroeder, sharing 55 years together before his death on Jan. 22, 1992. Ruth was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and also a member of Keenagers and Eldergaarden.
Survivors include three children, Donna (Charles) Ippolito, Palm Bay, Fla.; Richard Schroeder, Leland, Miss.; and David (Joanna) Schroeder, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jess Riehl, New London; two sisters, Laura Greely, Shiocton; and Edna Mundt, Northport.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Riehl; and a sister, Elinora Ross.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida St., Appleton, with the Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
A memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Church.
