    Arno W. Kopf, age 98, of Chilton, died on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Chilton Care Center in Chilton. He was born November 9, 1908, in the Town of Chilton, son of the late Anton and Mary (Basler) Kopf. He married Elfrieda J. Scholz on January 14, 1930, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kloten. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1983. During his life, Arno farmed on the family homestead in the Town of Chilton and in his younger years, he was deputized by the police department and worked as a floorwalker.
    Arno was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary Catholic Church, where he was on the building committee and actively participated in the building of the church rectory. He was also a member of the Chilton Eagles Club where he was a trustee and bartender for many, many years. Arno was inducted into the Wisconsin State Eagles Hall of Fame and sponsored the Chilton High School Band and Color Guard to march in the National Eagles Convention Parade in Milwaukee. One of Arno's favorite accomplishments in his life was his involvement in the foundation of the Chilton Co-Op. He was also extremely instrumental when the Co-Op expanded to the location on Highway 57 north of Chilton.
    Survivors include his children: Elizabeth "Betty" Kopf of Cedarburg, Margaret (Bill) Schierl of Chilton, Jane (Marty) Hermes of Kaukauna; a daughter-in-law, Albertine Kopf of Chilton; 12 grandchildren: Audrey (Kent) Mosebach, Anna Mae Kopf, Daniel (Wendy) Kopf, Marie (Bob) Hughes, Lisa (Jerry) Fesing, Marian (Sam) Brown, Judy Kopf, Shari Schierl and special friend Kevin Piper, Scott (Mary) Schierl, Sara (Brian) Diedrich, Pam (Steve) VanHandel, Craig Hermes; special AFS grandchild, Cornelia Alerecht; and 17 great-grandchildren.
    Arno was also preceded in death by two sons: Clarence Kopf who preceded in death in 1995, Alan "Buster" Kopf who preceded in death in 1991; an infant daughter, Anna Mae Kopf who preceded in death in 1935; twin great-grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Schierl; and three brothers: Joseph (Bertha) Kopf, John (Edna) Kopf, and George (Marie) Kopf.
    Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Al Geiser officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, when services will be held. An Eagles Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday at church at 4:15 p.m. Wieting Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
    The family would like to thank the staff of the Chilton Care Center, especially Debbie "Blondie," for all of their wonderful help and care. Their time and concern for Arno and his family is greatly appreciated.
