Obituary:
Robert G. Stecker, age 62, of 16 W. Barbie Rand Blvd., Hilbert, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born December 17, 1945, in Appleton, son of the late Herbert and Cleophine (Weber) Stecker. He married Stella Lombardi on July 29, 1967, in Auburn, NY. Bob served in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War and worked for the Calumet County Highway Department until retiring in 2003. Bob enjoyed his weekly golf outings with his brother Dick. He was a member of Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church in Potter.
He is survived by his wife Stella; his children: Susan (Andrew) Fuhrmann, Brillion; Robert Jr. (Stacy) Stecker, Sauk Prairie; Joseph Stecker, at home; five grandchildren: Katelynn, Kristine and Brandon Fuhrmann, Jessa and Adam Stecker, his brother, Richard (Anne) Stecker, Hilbert; four sisters: Carol Luniak, Hilbert; Colleen (Thomas) Farrell, Greenville; Mary (Ruben) Rabe, Plymouth; Corrine (Richard) Schuessler, Hilbert; a sister-in-law, Romaine (Gordon) Bruggink, Oostburg.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Thomas and a brother-in-law Paul Luniak.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 28, at 4 p.m. at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church in Potter. The Rev. Marc Axelrod will officiate. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the Stecker family with arrangements.
