Obituary:
Charles "Charlie" A. Miller, Neenah, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Vallhaven Care Center in Neenah. Charlie was born September 12, 1933, in Appleton to the late Albert and Linda (Eake) Miller. Charlie married his wife, Karen (Sawyer) on June 30, 1984. Charlie loved to be outdoors. He was fond of camping, fishing and smoking salmon, playing bingo and puttering around the yard with his grandchildren. Charlie was also a romantic at heart. He and Karen loved to take walks in the woods, listen to crickets and take walks in the rain together. Charlie enjoyed watching the stars and also jaw-jacking with the neighbors.
Charlie is lovingly survived by his wife, Karen Miller, Neenah; daughters: DeAnne (Burke) Fengler, Menasha; Corinna (Phil) Okkerse, Sturgeon Bay; sons: Brian (Debbie) Sawyer, Sheboygan; Charles (Robin) Miller, Kaukauna; grandchildren: Brandon Mucha and his special friend, Jessica Grant, Lance Mucha, Abigail, Bailey, Cara, Holly; sister, Ruby (Roy) Mehl, Menasha; brothers: Roger (Nancy) Miller, Neenah; Albert Miller, Wausau; brothers-in-law: Marvin (Ginny) Akstulewicz, Red Granite and David (Rachel) Akstulewicz, Georgia.
Charlie was preceded in death by his brother David Miller.
A memorial service for Charlie will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 South Park Avenue, Neenah with the Rev. Terry Ahlemeyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
Charlie's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Vallhaven Care Center and Theda Care At Home Hospice for all their care and support of Charlie.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund had been established for Charlie.
