    Obituary:
Wayne H. Lau, 72, Potter, died on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born Jan. 14, 1939, in Chilton, son of the late Adolph & Lydia (Zahn) Lau. Wayne was raised on his family's farm and attended Riverview School nearby before attending Trinity Lutheran School in Rantoul. Following his graduation from Chilton High School, Wayne joined the United States Army Reserves. He married Donna M. Schlinsog on June 24, 1961, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. Throughout his life, Wayne worked at Chilton Metal Products and began working with his father at their insurance agency. Following his father's death, he formed the Wayne Lau Insurance Agency. Later Wayne joined Hometown Insurance in Brillion and continued to work there until his retirement. Wayne served on the board of Lakeland Mutual Insurance Company. He was an active and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul where he served on the School Board, was the Chairman, Treasurer, Elder, and, because of his love of music, sang in the Men's Chorus. Following his retirement, Wayne took extra time to live life to the fullest and to do the things he enjoyed. He and Donna wintered together in Texas, and had a lot of fun traveling to new places with their traveling group. In all of their travels together, Wayne always said, "The fun is in the planning." He also enjoyed spending time at the cottage where he could boat, fish, and take pleasure in the company of those he loved. Wayne was always looking forward to playing cards, whether it be a good round of Sheepshead, a hand of Cribbage or with his Wednesday morning Potter group, he was always ready to deal. He will be fondly remembered as a gentle individual, always willing to offer time, help, or uplifting encouragement. His traditional values and Christ centered life were outstanding examples to his family and those that knew him. He was an excellent husband and father; he was truly the rock that all could rely on and was able to encourage his children to be all they could be. Wayne went out of his way to spend time with his beloved daughters by going shopping and spending time together. Wayne also loved and was very proud of each of his sons-in-law. He was extremely organized and took great pride in everything he did; even picking beautiful flowers that Donna raised just to have fresh flowers in the house. He was always interested and excited about new technology and gadgets; he even acquired a laptop computer before his children. Above all else, Wayne loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was so proud that his children grew to remain in the family of God, and that all of his grandchildren are attending Christ focused Lutheran Schools. In Wayne's life, this was a fulfillment of Philippians 2:2 "Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose."
Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Ellen (Steve) Zutz, Chilton; Patty (Mike) Zenner, Potter; Becky (Terry) Jandrey, Brillion; Jennifer (Randall) Glaze, Brillion; six grandchildren, Cassandra, Bradley, & Aaron Zenner, Trevor & Blake Jandrey, Lillian Glaze; a brother, Eldor (Clara) Lau, Chilton; three sisters, Dolores Wittmann, Chilton; Lorraine (Harvey) Bessert, Edinburg, T.X.; Betty (Darol) Behnke, Brillion; sisters-in-law, Arlyne (Norbert) Teutenberg, Hartland, Wis; Kathryn Schlinsog, Neillsville, Wis. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church (N6078 West River Road Hilbert) with the Rev Tim Benninghoff and the Rev. John Kelling officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W.
