    Obituary:
Michael R. Schultz, 54, passed from the arms of his loving family into the arms of his Creator on September 21, 2007, after a fierce two-year battle with cancer. Mike was born December 3, 1952, to Ray and Bonnie (Riehl) Schultz. He attended Appleton West High School and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for 20 years for the Kohler Company first as the Fire Marshall and then as one of the plant engineers. He left this position to join Groeschel Brothers as a design plan engineer and continued there until the time of his death.
In 1974, he married Deborah Heling and together they were blessed with two beautiful daughters and three incredible grandchildren who were the center and focus of his life. They will forever miss him; Crystal (Benjamin) Gavin and their sons Christopher Michael and Zachary Kiran John and Kymberly (Michael) Henrickson and their daughter, Ava Lily.
Michael is survived by his mother, Bonnie Schultz; sisters: Deborah (James) Brucato and Jennifer (Mike) Harris and his brother Jeffrey (Jennifer) Schultz in addition to his nephews: Jerry, Marty and James (Becky) Harris and their children Melanie and Grant. His aunts Lois Dawson and Sylvia Techlin also survive him. In addition, he leaves behind his second family; father-in-law Roger Heling, sisters-in-law Penny (Alan) Awe, Lana (Bernie) Dekker, Jeanine (David) Hafermann, and brothers-in-law: Richard (Mary) Heling and Kevin (Steve Mantia) Heling and their families.
His father Ray, paternal grandparents Ray and Minnie Schultz, maternal grandparents Willard Riehl, Bea and Neil Herning, uncles Robert Dawson and Henry Techlin and mother-in-law Arnell Heling, preceded him in death.
The funeral service for Michael will be held 7 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2007, at Valley Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for Clean Air Works, which is dedicated to making the environment safer for all of us.
The family would like to thank Dr. Doug Meyer, Dr Mary Connelly and Dr. Jack Swanson and the compassionate staff of the Martha Siekmann Cancer Center, Theda Care Hospice, especially Mary O'Brien, for their care along this journey. We would also like to thank our families and our colleagues and friends at UW Health Fox Valley Family Medicine and Groeschel Brothers whose love and concern allowed us to spend this sacred time together.
"Set me as seal upon thy heart; as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death"
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding."
