    Age 77, died Tuesday at 2 ;.m. following a six weed illness. She was born July 29, 1883 in Little Chute and had been a resident of the Village all of her life. Mrs. Biersteker was a member of the Christian Mothers. Survivors are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Theodore Lamers, Mrs. John Evers and Mrs. John Lamers, all of Little Chute; two step daughters, Mrs. John Grisman, Kaukauna and Mrs. Marv Hansen, Kaukauna; seven step-sons, John Evers, Little Chute and Martin Evers, Appleton; Lt. Col. Nick Biersteker, Kentucky; Joseph Biersteker, Mankato, Minnesota; John Biersteker, Columbus, Ohio; Maurice Biersteker, Combined Locks; Cornelius Biersteker, Kaukauna; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Van Hammone, Little Chute; a brother, Chris Vander Velden, Little Chute; 69 grandchildren and 83 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 8 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute after 7 p.m. Wednesday and after 2 p.m. Thursday. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

    Lamers, Katherine "Kate" Little ChuteAge 88, died peacefully after a battle with Alzheimer's on Sunday, Octob er 6, 2002 at Oshkosh Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Ju ne 18, 1914, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Vander Velden) Evers. S he married Jack Lamers on July 30, 1935, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic C hurch, Little Chute, where she was a lifelong member. They enjoyed 60 yea rs of marriage together until he preceded her in death December 28, 199 5. Kate enjoyed bowling, golf and was an avid Packer fan and Chicago Cub f an.     Marian (Lamers) Piepkorn, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the age of 89. She was born May 24, 1923, in Little Chute, daughter of the late Theodore and Minnie (Wildenberg) Lamers. Marian married Art TeVrucht and together they were blessed with a daughter, Darlene. Art preceded her in death. She then married Milton "Bud" Piepkorn and they together had three children: David, Diane and Dennis. Marian held several offices in the VFW, American Legion Jacob Coppus Post # 258 Auxilary, Homemakers of America, 4-H Club and Teens for Christ. After retirement, Marian and Bud lived in Chute Pond. She was very active in her church, helping out with communion, lecturing, bible studies, lunch program and taking care of the altar boy's robes. Marian has been a resident of Oakridge Gardens for the last 8 years, where she was very active in all activities at the home.
    Marian is survived by her children: Darlene Proveaux, Phoenix, AZ; Diane Piepkorn, Neenah; Dennis (Peg) Piepkorn, Suring; a daughter-in-law, Jean Piepkorn, Little Chute; grandchildren: Jeff (Laurie) Proveaux, Craig (Beth) Piepkorn, Lance Piepkorn, Shane (Sally) Piepkorn, Andy (Christy) Piepkorn, Cory Piepkorn; great-grandchildren: Desire, Jesse, Brandon, Molly, Emily, Gavin and Julia; great-great-grandchildren: Rayonna, Mariah, Haley and Donovin; a brother, Bob (Els) Lamers; sisters: Pat (Lloyd) VandeHey, Glad (Mark) Hietpas, Rose Ebben and Bev (Chuck) Goodman; and many other special family members and friends.
    Marian was preceded in death by her two husbands: Art TeVrucht and Milton "Bud" Piepkorn; a son, David Piepkorn; a son-in-law, Fred Proveaux; a grandson, Jeremy Piepkorn; a sister, Myrtle Wundrow; brothers-in-law: Donald Vaubel, Larry Wolff, Len Wundow, Mike Ebben and Otis Reimers; sister-in-law, Arlene Reimers.
    Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Msgr. James VandenHogen officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be held Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church. A memorial has been established in Marian's name.
    Marian's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff and friends at Oakridge Gardens; Steve, Carol and Jeremy Schiltz and the Cy Huss family; and all of those close to Marian.

    Myrtle Wundrow, 85, Little Chute, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Myrtle was born September 11, 1925, in Appleton, daughter of Theodore and Minnie (Vanden Wildenberg) Lamers. She married Leonard Wundrow July 2, 1946, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, and he preceded her in death May 6, 2002. Myrt was employed by Kimberly Clark, Kimberly, the Baker's Shop, Little Chute, and the Post Office in Little Chute for several years of her life. She worked as a crossing guard, and volunteered at the voting poles. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, and cooking with her grandchildren. Myrtle was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 258, Little Chute, Women's Life, Unit 72, Kaukauna, and was a card club member.
    Myrtle is survived by her children: Cheri (Gary) Klika, Lea (Dan) Coppus, and Dale (special friend Raelene) Wundrow, all of Little Chute; grandchildren: Chad (Janel) Klika, Gary (Julie) Klika, Melanni (Chad) Schwab, Jason (Amy) Coppus, Stacy (Jesse) Janssen, Scott (Christina) Coppus, Nicole (fiance Adam Lovas) Wundrow, Stephanie (Kevin) Hietpas, and Tyler (fiance Ashley Gogin) Wundrow; great grandchildren: Dale, Jacob, and Ethan Klika; a brother, Robert (Els) Lamers, Little Chute; sisters: Marian Piepkorn, Menasha; Gladys (Mark) Hietpas, Rose (Mike) Ebben, and Pat (Lloyd) Vande Hey, all of Little Chute, and Bev (Chuck) Goodman, Combined Locks; a brother-in-law, Clarence Wundrow; a sister-in-law, Hazel Norman; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Myrtle was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers- and sisters-in law: Ben (Adela) Hiedemann, Milton Piepkorn, Don Vaubel, Ethel Wundrow, Larry Norman, Walter (Irene) Wundrow, Arthur (Gladys), Harvey (Hilda), Raymond (Della), Elmer (Harriet), and Robert Wundrow, and Elsie (Harry) Warren.
    Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Fr. James Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. Monday until the time of the mass.

    Robert J. Lamers, age 85, of Little Chute, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Bob was born on March 14, 1928, in Little Chute, to the late Theodore and Minnie (Wildenberg) Lamers. He married Elsbeth Smith on February 3, 1953, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was employed at Midtec as a raw materials buyer for over 45 years; he also operated Lamers Income Tax Service for over 44 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was well-known for his perfect attendance at his Army reunions--59 years in a row. Bob enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing horseshoes, accordion, harmonica and cards. With his wife Elsbeth, he also enjoyed his annual trips to Nashville. He also attended annual Retreats at Chambers Island and Monte Alverno.

    Joan (Jo) Catherine Schmalz, 84, Freedom, passed away very peacefully Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born Oct. 8, 1929 in Little Chute, WI, daughter of the late John & Martina (Wildenberg) Evers. She was united in marriage to Darwin L. Schmalz on May, 29, 1948, at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute. Along with her husband Darwin, they owned and operated D.L. Schmalz Lawn & Nursery for 36 years, until retiring in 1991. The business was a dream for self-sufficiency that required hours of dedicated, selfless work and commitment on the part of both Joan & Darwin.
    Jo was a gentle, quiet-spirited woman, who was known to family and friends as a peace maker. Her kindness and unassuming nature was a mark of her personality. Jo was also a determined, hard-worker, who had a stubborn streak that helped her achieve amazing things with a small amount of resources. Jo was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word. Her greatest pursuit in life was being dedicated to building a family. Not just raising her 7 children, but providing a loving environment for them to grow and learn in. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was a welcoming place that the grandchildren loved to come to for simple treats, homemade games and lots of "grandma lap time".
    Joan and Darwin were charter members of F.V.C.F. and faithfully attended and supported the church for 18 years. Many meaningful friendships were forged through this fellowship.
    Jo is survived by her husband, Darwin, one week short of 66 years; her seven children who held her heart; Mark (Sue) Schmalz, Debbie (Dave) Maier, Cheri (Glen) Sprangers, Paula (Dave) Mayer, Pastor Michael (Penny) Schmalz, Scott (Carla) Schmalz, Julie Jo Schmalz; 16 grandchildren: Sara (Rich) Hariman, Eric Schmalz, Jen (Tony) Burhans, Jesse (special friend Megan) Maier, Mandi (Jeremy) Koskey, Melissa (Bubba) Sandry, Becki (Mike) DeCoster, Ryan (special friend Stacy) Sprangers, Isaac & Alexis Mayer, Levi (Abby) Schmalz, Luke (Crystal) Schmalz, Brooke (Fritz) Croy, Sam, Lexi, Chelsea Schmalz; and 8 great-grandchildren; Devin, Lucas, Cooper, Jadyn, Charlie, Ariah, Penelope, and new baby.
    In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her son, Michael, brothers Frank, Clete, & Marvin, sisters Eileen Parmenter & Marge Fuzzard, brother-in-law Gene Schmalz & sister-in-law Lynn Braun.
    A funeral service for Joan will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014, at Fox Valley Christian Fellowship, 1200 West Kimberly Ave., Kimberly. Visitation for Joan will be held from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the church. Joan will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park.
    Joan's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ministry Home Care, especially to Ellen, for her gentle care of Joan.

    James Evers, 69, of Freedom (formally Little Chute) passed away November 4, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on December 8, 1944, the son of the late John and Martina (Wildenberg) Evers. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharyl (Verstegen) Evers on November 7, 1964. They were blessed with five children, and six grandchildren.
    Jim was filled with pride while attending his grandchildren's events and school functions. He adored each and every one of their talents. He took particular interest in teaching them how to drive and maintain 4 wheelers and lawn mowers. Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets and rummage sales. His shed was his home away from home where he delighted in woodworking, particularly building benches and wheelbarrows. His garden, trees, and flowers were his enjoyment. Jim owned his own drywall business and retired from the profession after 41 years.
    Jim is survived by his wife, Sharyl; sons: Jeffrey (Maureen) Evers, Steve (Sue) Evers; and a daughter, Sharla (Pete) Adrian; grandchildren: Danielle Evers, Derek Evers, Matthew Evers, Courtney Evers, Fisher Adrian and Cale Adrian; sisters: Katie De Witt and Theresa Evers; sisters-in-law: Jan (Drace) Evers, Shawn (Verstegen) Olm, Rochelle (Verstegen) Stoffel, Sharlene (Babe Verstegen) Peeters, and Ruth (Verstegen) Olson.

    Little Chute - Thomas P. Lamers, age 76, of Little Chute, passed away after a lengthy battle with a disease called POEMS Syndrome, on August 10, 2018. He was born in Little Chute, son of the late Jack and Katherine (Evers) Lamers. He Attended St. John High School.
    Tom married his wife of 37 years, Deb Van Hammond on July 10, 1981. Before becoming ill, they did some traveling to Hawaii, Bahamas and several cruises. The golf trips to the Bahamas with good friends were his favorite. Tom worked for UPS for 31 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960-1968. He loved sports, including softball, golf, bowling and horseshoes. He was an avid Brewers and Packers fan.
    Tom is survived by his loving wife, Deb; four daughters: Sara (Paul) Pederson, Beth (Paul) Hoffman, Jill Damrau and Lisa (Chris) McRae; 9 grandchildren: Nicole, Alexa and Matt Pederson, Hannah and Sadie Tourville, Stephanie and Emma Winske, Michael and Chloe McRae; siblings: Jan (Ron) Hietpas, Jay (Kay) Lamers and Linda (fiance John Schroeder) Hammen; brothers-in-law: Dave (Jean) Van Hammond and Don (Louise) Van Hammond; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Kate Lamers; father and mother-in-law: Bud and Wilma Van Hammond; and a brother-in-law, Doug Hammen.
    A celebration of Tom's life will take place at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial service and Military honors performed by the American Legion Post #258 will conclude the evening.     Connie L. Brick, Kaukauna, age 56, died unexpectedly on Sunday September 7, 2014 as the result of a motorcycle accident. She was born March 29, 1958 in Appleton, the daughter of Bernard and Patricia (Lamers) Miller. On March 4, 1989 she was united in marriage to Kevin M. Brick at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Connie received her Bachelor's Degree from UWGB in 2006 and went on to receive her Master's Degree from Marian University in 2011. She was presently employed by West Corp. in Appleton as a Training Specialist. She was very proud of completing the Fox Cities half-marathon in 2013. Connie loved the performing arts and regularly attended events at the PAC. She had a passion for country music and regularly attended the Hodag Country Festival in Rhinelander. She loved to sing karaoke wherever she was allowed. She also enjoyed watching baseball and was a season ticket holder for the Packers with Kevin. Above all, she was extremely proud of her family and enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren.
    Connie is survived by her husband, Kevin; her three children: Eric (special friend Nikki Pralle) Vanden Boogard, Kim (Brian) Kosmosky, and Lindsay (fiancé Scott Goldsmith) Brick; five granddaughters: Marlee Vanden Boogard, Makennah Vandehey, Nevaeh Kosmosky, Danicah Kosmosky, and Caroline Goldsmith; her parents: Bernie (Elaine) Miller and Pat Van De Hey; mother-in-law, Lorraine Brick; six brothers and sisters: Jean (Mike) Van Wychen, Joan Sanderfoot, Steve Miller, Carol (Ron) Samp, Scott (Kerri) Miller, and Amy (Mike) Bodoh; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tom (Cindy) Brick, Tiffany (David) Ortiz. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Terrance Brick; her two step-fathers: Larry Wolff and Lloyd Van De Hey and a brother-in-law, Ray Sanderfoot.
    The Memorial Mass for Connie will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, September 15, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. Mary Church, 119 West 7th St., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. He competed in the National contest in Washington DC and graduated from University of Wisconsin. Leslie served in the Army Nuclear Battalion in Germany during the Cold War. He worked at Madison Electric Company which had Nuclear Generators.

    Tiffany Lamers, of Appleton, age 33, beloved daughter of Jeff and Joan Lamers, entered into her eternal rest with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 3, 2012. She was born on November 29, 1979, and touched many people's lives. Tiffany will be fondly remembered by her parents, Jeff and Joan; sisters, Crystal and Becca (fiancé Ryan Branta); and her brother, Josh.     The funeral service for Tiffany will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton. Dan Povolny will be officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. A time of visitation and support will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday morning from 8:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation are appreciated. Online condolences can be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    The family would like to sincerely thank the entire staff at Innovative Services, Outagamie County Human Services, especially Lynn Schroeder, and everyone at Agape for all the love and care provided to Tiffany through the years. Also, a special thank you to the medical staff at Appleton Medical Center, for the compassionate care shown to our Tiffany.
