    Obituary:
R Michael Ott, age 69, much loved friend, son, brother, and uncle, went home to Jesus on March 27, 2014, after a long and courageous battle for life. Mike was born to Reuben and Verona (Fokett) Ott on August 3, 1944.
From his early youth, he was drawn to the herd of Holstein cows, his girls, on the family farm and began showing cattle at the Calumet County Fair when he was just ten years old. During his 4-H years he went on to show at the Wisconsin State Fair and for most of his life in Open Class at the County Fair. His bull was crowned Grand Champion Bull at the International Dairy Expo in Chicago, and he exhibited cows at the Dairy Congress in Madison. Mike was a life member of the national, state, and Calumet County Holstein-Freisian Association. Mike loved animals, and for many years he also raised Alaskan Malamutes.
He enjoyed sheephead and polka music with friends and family; he planted many of the mature trees around the family homestead and grew houseplants like a pro. He was also a novice player of the piano and organ.
An avid fan of all Wisconsin Badgers sports, but especially basketball and football, Mike enjoyed their two victories to open the NCAA tournament before his death and was dreaming of the Final Four. On the evening of his death, the Badgers did not let him down when they won a convincing victory to move into the Elite Eight. He was a staunch supporter of the Milwaukee Braves, then Brewers, but unfortunately also rooted for the Chicago Bears.
Mike was a very private almost shy person who even avoided having his picture taken. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved. Through good times and bad, Michael paid a monthly contribution to the Christian Children's Fund for decades. His kind heart and easy smile will be dearly missed.
Survived by his best friend David Wojcik; siblings Ann (Tom) Duffy, Orrin Ott, Renae (Marge) Ott, Marlene Ott and friend Mary Longsine, Neil (Karen) Ott, Lynn Greenwood, Lee Ott, and Berdine (Tom) Piepenberg; 41 nieces and nephews; 71 great nieces and nephews; and 11 great great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Lester Keller; sister-in-law Charlotte Ott, Debbie (Ott) Lehman, and Margie Ott; and countless cousins, other relatives, and friends. Mike is being welcomed into heaven by his parents Reuben and Verona (Fokett) Ott, sister Mavis (Ott) Keller, brother David (Claremont) Ott.
Funeral services will be held at the Zion United Methodist Church, Forest Junction, at 1:00, April 2 with the Rev. Becky Kindschi officiating. Friends may call at the Church from 11:00 until the time of the service. Mike's ashes will be kept on the family farm. Memorials to the church will be appreciated.
