    Obituary:
LaVonne M. Rose, 72, Village of Howard, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 22, 2008, after a long illness. On Holy Saturday, LaVonne's difficult struggle came to an end, when she was called into heaven. She was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Kaukauna, Wis., to the late Harry and Evelyn (Weyenberg) DeValk. On July 26, 1961, she married Richard Rose and had resided in Green Bay. Richard preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1992. LaVonne was a graduate of West High School Class of 1953. She last worked at Schneider National, until illness forced her into retirement in 1998. LaVonne enjoyed life and always kept a positive outlook, even when life seemed a little dim. We know that it was her strong will that kept her going all these years. The few highlights that she held dearest in her heart, were her five grandchildren, her many family pets, her devoted interest in bowling (which was a big part of her life for over 30 years) and her many years of involvement in the Green Bay Area Soap Box Derby. LaVonne was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to make some great life long friends from both of those organizations. She will be missed by all.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Lillian) Rose, Wendy Heim (Robert Fischer), Robin (Ned) Desotel, Shelly Rose (Dean Merline); grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Fischer, Megan, Benjamin, and Madison Desotel; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon (Glenn) Weycker, Howard; Connie (Robert) Zingler, Green Bay; Linda (Michael) Wood, Mountain, Wis.; and Rudy (Karen) Rose, Saford, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Nancy Kwilinski, Green Bay. Further survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Dean, Gary, and Wayne; sister, Joemaine; sister in law, Judy Devalk; nephew, Patrick Weycker; niece, Traci Wood; her father and mother-in-law, Rudolph and Ethel Rose, and her many family pets.
In honoring our Mother and respecting her wishes, there will be no visitation/funeral service but a simple good-bye and a loving memory of her. LaVonne believed you should enjoy and remember the ones that you love while they are alive. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated, by LaVonne and her family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the great staff at Unity and Dr. John Rank.
In memory of LaVonne, a memorial fund has been established. You may send memorials in LaVonne's name c/o the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 13355,Green Bay WI 54307-3355. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
