BETTY LOU SANDSThe funeral will be held Nov. 4 for Betty Lou Sands of Eugene, who died Oc t. 31 of an aneurysm. She was 64. Sands was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Rap id City, S.D. to Darwin and Eskaline Smith. She moved to Eugene from Rap id City in 1945 and graduated in 1949 from Eugene High School. She marri ed David Sands in Reno, Nev., on July 23, 1956. Sands worked at Hamburg er Heaven, the Glendale Cafe and the Colonial Inn Restaurant. For the pa st 25 years, she operated a day care center in her home. She enjoyed spe nding time with her family.In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Cindy Perin of E ugene; a brother, Robert Smith of Reston, Va.; five sisters, Darline Hoffm an, Pat Horejs, Janet Smith, Lois Smith and Kay Breaux, all of Eugene; a nd one grandchild. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and fr om 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Saturda y's service is at 1 p.m. at the River Road Church of Christ in Eugene. Bu rial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Memorial contributio ns may be made to a charity of choice.
