    Mary Anna Mayer
    A former Stratford resident. Age 98, died at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Cent er, Menasha, on Monday, May 14, 2001, at 10:15 a.m. where she had resid ed since September 8, 1997. She was born April 16, 1903, in St. Mary's Rid ge, Wisconsin. She was the former Mary A. Hemmersbach and married Lawren ce D. Mayer on October 26, 1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsvi lle, Wisconsin. She was educated in St. Mary's Ridge, Wisconsin. Before h er marriage, Mary was employed for Blodgett Poultry in Marshfield. After t heir marriage, the Mayers lived in Stratford until the death of her husba nd on July 28, 1986. She then lived with her daughter in Wauwatosa and Nee nah until she entered the nursing center. She was a member of St. Joseph 's Catholic Church, The Parish Council of Catholic Women. Survivors inclu de three sons and a daughter, Richard (Florence) Mayer, Downers Grove, Ill inois, and their children, Mark, Michael and Christine; Harold (Lois) Maye r, Neillsville, and their children, David and Steven; Marcella (Dennis) Ho ward, Neenah, and their children, Ryan, Katie and Adam; Joe (Mary) Maye r, Stratford, and their children, Joe Jr. and Jennifer; 10 grandchildre n; and a great-grandson, Austin Mayer. Besides her parents and her husban d, Mary was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Funeral serv ices will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2001, at St. Joseph's Ca tholic Church, Stratford, with the Rev. Thomas J. Rudolph, Pastor, officia ting. Florence Kaiser will be the organist for St. Joseph's Church Funer al Choir. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Frid ay from 11:30 a.m. until service time. St. Joseph's Parish Council of Cath olic Women Rosary Service will be held on Friday at 1:15 p.m. at the churc h. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary and active pallbearers. Buri al in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Stratford (village). The Sauter / Kundinger F uneral Home, Stratford, is assisting the family with arrangements. The fam ily will designate a memorial in her name at a later date. The family wou ld like to express their thanks to the staff of Oakridge Gardens Nursing C enter for the excellent care, love, and support shown to Mary during her t ime there.
