We all were meant to learn some things, But nev er meant to stay. Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. F or some the journey's quicker, For some the journey's slow. Obituary:
Lillian E. Basler, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2009. Mom was born on June 2, 1923, to the late Glen and Ida (Weinke) Spice. Mom married Arthur Basler Sr. on May 28, 1958, and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2007, after 49 years of marriage. On Sunday, Dad took Mom's hand once again. Mom was a cook for many years at the Valley Inn in Neenah and also at Michiels in Menasha. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and ceramics.
She is survived by two sons: Arthur D. Jr. (Kari), Neenah; DuWayne, Mount Horeb, WI; two daughters: Nancy (Bill) White, Georgia, Paula (Bob — whom she thought of as a son) Wichman, Appleton; a step-daughter, Debbie (Bob) Grunwald, Fremont; a brother, Robert Spice; and sister-in-law, Carol Spice. Mom is further survived by Dad's brothers: Gerald (Joyce) Basler and James (Dana) Collins; four sisters-in-law: Florence Lambert, Clara, Ruby, and Ann Basler; 19 grandchildren; including a special grandson Brad, and grandson Jaydee whom grandma always referred to as a "ball of fire;" seven great-grandchildren; including a very special great-grandson, Chrishawn, who made Mom's last day ... at peace. Also many nieces, nephews, a special friend Ray Pitch, as well as other relatives and friends. It is great comfort knowing Mom is with the ones she has talked about for the last year and a half.
Besides her parents she is now back with Dad, a daughter Shirley Zinda who passed on August 13, 2007, a son Dennis VandenBoogart who passed on August 31, 2008, a sister Marion Boushley who passed on July 28, 2009, a sister-in-law Audrey Spice, who passed on February 9, 2006, as well as five brothers-in-law: Bill, Marvin, Hercel, Harold, and Roger, and sister-in-law Rose Suess.Paula would like to thank Monte at Michiels for making Mom's last visit there special.
Per Mom's request there will be no service.
Not only did we lose Mom, but in a way we lost everyone who Mom believed was still with us; in reality they were not. Because of that, the family has decided to have a time of remembrance at the Star of Hope Chapel at Highland Memorial Park, for anyone wishing to join them, on Thursday, September 3, 2009, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by the burial on the Memorial Park grounds.
    Mom,
I love you for not only being a strong person, but for also making me strong, one step behind you. I have tried with all the strength I had left after losing Dad and Shirley, to make you comfortable and safe. Some people, I think already know that. You taught me to stick up for what I believed in and I believed in you ... 'cause you're my Mom. Dad would have wanted that.
I love you not only for who you are, but for who I am, when I am with you. You have taught me the past year and a half that life goes on through listening to your words and spending time with you. Only you had a special gift within your heart and mind. Because of that, I love you more than all the therapy in the world would have to offer me. You gave me a piece of them back ... even if it was just for a little while. Through your words I was never alone. Words could never express the special place you have in my heart. I will truly miss you and will always love you! -Paula

    Obituary:
Violet Louise Luebke, nee Blair, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012. She was born on September 27th, 1924 in Kaukauna, the oldest daughter of Adolph and Myrtle Blair.
The family moved to Neenah when she was a little girl. Violet graduated from Neenah High School. On April 26, 1943 she married Russell W. Luebke. The first three years of their marriage, Russell was in the army and stationed overseas. Violet, a true city girl moved to the Luebke family farm to stay with her in-laws, Edwin & Ella Luebke. She worked at Schultz's Dime Store in Neenah and waited for Russell to return to begin to make a home for the two of them. Over the years they were blessed with six children and Violet was content to spend her days cooking, sewing, washing clothes, canning vegetables and whatever was needed to keep her family safe, happy and well fed. She instilled a love of reading, the importance of education and to help others whenever you can. She may not have expressed her love of the Lord with words her but she lived it by example. Violet and Russell shared almost 63 years together, until his passing in February 2006.
Violet was a Charter member of the VFW Auxiliary, Neenah, a PTA parent, a Lutheran Girl Pioneer Leader, and an officer/member of the Ladies Aide at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Neenah.
In her later years, you could find her embroidering, doing word search puzzles or reading. As a grandma her cookie jar or candy dish always offered a variety of treats for those that came to visit.
    Violet is survived by her children: Janine (Roger Diedrich) Brantley, Larsen, Richard (Janet) Luebke, Ladysmith, Priscilla Spielbauer, Appleton, Tina M. Luebke, Neenah, Nancy (Terry) Pieper, Neenah; a daughter-in-law, Kristine Luebke, Neenah;
15 Grandchildren: Robert (Cindy)Brantley, Andy (Sherry) Brantley, Ben (Apryl) Brantley, Kelly (Mike) Lavin, Rick (Krista) Luebke, Jason (Marie) Luebke, Joseph (Angie) Luebke, Alice (Mark) Kilsdonk, John (Melissa) Clegg, Carrie Spielbauer, Aubrey (LeAnn) Krautkramer, Emily (Dan) Scott, Melanie (Tyler) Kotze, Carol (Joe) Harleman, and Lisa (Josh) Dauntes.
20 great-grandchildren: Skyler, McKenzie, Kennedy, Owen, Bailey, Jessie, Matthew, Mason, Jena, Keera, Alyssa, Josh, Jed, Everett, Tate, Wren, Gabe, Lark, Anthem and Maxine; and 12 step-grandchildren. Violet is further survived by her brother, Louis (Elaine) Blair; a sister, Margaret Schedgick; a sister-in-law, Lucille Luebke; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald; son in law, Owen Brantley; sister, Loraine Blair; her brother, Thomas Blair; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel & Carl Kurowski; brother-in-law, Chester Schedgick; and brother-in-laws: Daniel (Mabel) Luebke, and Eugene Luebke.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 3703 Fairview Rd., Town of Clayton, with The Rev. Paul M. Meier officiating. A special thank you to Janine for her loving care of mom. You had a good teacher.

    Obituary:
Thomas C. Pomeroy, 57, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home with his family at his side. He was born June 27, 1957 son of the late Marion (nee Rosenthal) Pomeroy and the late Clifford Pomeroy.
Tom was born in Kaukauna and lived there all his life until last summer when Tom and Donna moved to their home on Legend Lake in Keshena.
He proudly served as a Marine reservist for eight years.
On April 30, 1978 he was united in marriage to Donna Volkman at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Center.
Tom has been a faithful member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. He loved to spread the great news of the Risen Savior with all. His passion for Christ grew as did his faith. The faith God blessed Tom with was inspiring to his family and those around him.
Tom enjoyed wrestling and coached his son in his earlier years and watched his grandsons wrestle the last several years. He loved to attend high school wrestling meets and attended the state wrestling tournaments for 25 years, even going just two weeks ago.
The grandchildren were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed the relaxing campfires, canoe rides, and his hammock.
Tom was a hard worker with a creative and entrepreneurial mind. Everything he did was with passion and courage. He had the determination to make things happen, especially when others said it couldn't be done. He used that drive during his fight with cancer and taught others to stay strong.
He is survived by his wife Donna; three children: Jessica (Gary, deceased on 3/9/2015) Hinske, Rachel (Lane) Kufner, and Thomas (Carissa) Pomeroy; six grandchildren: Austin, Bryce, and Alyssa Kufner, Faith, Hope, and Hunter Pomeroy; four step-grandchildren: Matt, Reggie (Kari), Mike (Sara), and Jon Hinske; three step great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Weston, and Kora. He is further survived by his brother Daniel Pomeroy; two sisters: Mary Euclide and Eve (Robert) Cupp; mother-in-law Rita Volkman; brother-in-law Harlan (Shari) Volkman; two sisters-in-law: Faye (Pat) Sheppard and Lois Volkman. Also survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; a son-in-law Gary Hinske; father-in-law Lyle Volkman; brother-in-law Robert Volkman; and sister-in-law Sherry Pomeroy.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm. Visitation will continue at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 9:30 am until services at 11 am with Pastor Jeffrey Suhr and Pastor Micah Martin officiating. Full military honors will be held at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tom's memory.
It was Tom's wishes to remain at home, and his family is truly grateful for the love and care provided by Harlan and Peggy for Tom and his family, which allowed Tom's wish to be granted.
Special thanks also to Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, Appleton Medical Center, ThedaCare At Home, and ThedaCare Hospice for the care, compassion, and friendship.
You would always tell me, "You're the best", at which I would respond, "You're better than the best". Now, my love, you're with the Best of the Best, our risen Lord and Savior. Love you with all of my heart, Donna.

    Obituary:
Chaz "DJ" Lee Brown, age 23, of Freedom/Oneida, was received into the arms of his Savior after an automobile accident on Thanksgiving Day. He was very much loved by his family and friends. DJ loved outdoor activities from motocross to fishing. His life changed for the better the day his twin boys were born, spending each day working to make their lives better. When he wasn't with them he was busy planning their next big adventure. As a young man, he gave his life to the lord, but recently recommitted to serving him in earnest. He was employed at Exterior Custom Solutions and his charismatic personality made him a perfect fit for the job.
Chaz is survived by his children: Caden and Carsen; their mother (Courtney); his dad, David Brown (Karen); his mom Brenda Brown; his grandparents Lynn Brown and Ray (Bonnie) Van Den Bloomer. He will be remembered forever by his siblings: Ashlee (Ben), Bailee and Zander "We love you so much". DJ will also be greatly missed by his cousins Quiana, Shayna, Jiselle, Danika, Nicole, Brooke, Angela, Alicia, Manny, Dereck, Tanner, Tierra, Bobbie, Mariah, Trenton, Shayna, and Dominik. He is further survived by his loving aunts and uncles, including his godparents Gale and Cliff. Chaz also had a girlfriend, that he loved, Angelina Cousineau and her son Carson, that he adored as his own.
Chaz was preceded in death by grandmother, Betty Van Den Bloomer and grandfathers, Henry Brown and Darrel Gerondale, along with cousin, Ryan Bevers.
A Celebration of life for DJ will be 4:00 PM on Wednesday December 2, 2015, at The Mission Church, 314 N. Appleton St, with Pastor John Kieffer officiating. Visitation will be at Church on Wednesday beginning at 12:00 until 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, a trust has been set up for his twins.
Chaz's brother, Bailee, summed it up well when he said, "Chaz lived life so fast that he lived a whole lifetime in 23 years. He was an angel among us.
