    Vanden Boom, Carl E.Carl E. Vanden Boom, of Kimberly, age 75, returned to his Heavenly Fath er on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, surrounded by his devoted family. Carl w as born in Kimberly on June 29, 1929, son of the late Anton and Christi ne (Kamps) Vanden Boom. Carl was a graduate of the Kimberly High School a nd also attended St. Norbert College in De Pere. During the Korean Conflic t, Carl served his country as a member of the United States Army. Followi ng his discharge, he married the former Patricia Dupont in Kimberly; she s urvives.Carl worked at the Kimberly-Clark Corporation for over forty years, worki ng at locations in Kimberly, Chicago, and Neenah. In 1991 he retired fr om the Quality Control and Research and Development Department.Carl lived his extraordinary life faithfully serving his Lord, his famil y, and his community sharing his Christ-like gifts in many ways. He lov ed young people, and wherever he and Pat resided, Carl shared his fai th by teaching religion classes to future generations. For many years, Ca rl and Pat were very active and faithful members of Holy Name Parish in Ki mberly where he served on the Parish Council and as a Trustee.His family will forever recall and treasure Carl's love, patience, tendern ess, compassion, humility, gentle ways, and his willingness to serve. Mo st of all, Carl's unwavering desire to serve his Lord was manifest ed as he eagerly shared his faith and his tender ways with everyone wh om he became acquainted with.Community members will remember his membership in the Kimberly Kiwanis Cl ub where he previously served as president, and as a member on the Hea rt of the Valley Sewerage Commission and the Papermakers Booster Club. Ca rl was inducted to the Kimberly High School Hall of Fame for his athlet ic achievements over the years and was also a member of Toastmasters Inter national.Carl truly enjoyed all of God's creation, and looked forward to time spe nt with his family at the cottage on Lake Winneconne. There he enjoyed fis hing, swimming, sports with his grandchildren, watching and feeding the bi rds, visiting the neighbors and just generally "putzing around" at the lak e.Carl is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-three years: Pat (nee Dupont ); four daughters: Ann (Robert) Leibrock of Burnsville, Minnesota; Paula ( Bill) Velander of Bennett, Nebraska; Beth Ann (Robert) Crawford of Apple V alley, Minnesota; Mary Rose (John) Barch of Algonquin, Illinois; three son s: Matt (Amy) Vanden Boom of Appleton; James Vanden Boom of Kimberly; Kr is (Donna) Vanden Boom of Oconomowoc; twenty-two grandchildren; two sister s: Althea (Bob) Valentyne of Kimberly and Delphine Diermeier of Florida.Carl was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Christine Vanden Boo m, by Pat's parents Joseph and Agnes Dupont, infant twin daughters Mary a nd Marie, a brother James (Gertrude) Vanden Boom, and a sister Rosemary (J oe "Sam") Van Sambeek.The funeral liturgy for Carl will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Februa ry 12, 2005, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH - KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue wi th Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemeter y. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until t he hour of the services.Carl loved the Word of God and daily honored his Lord and Saviour by livi ng the message of his most treasured scripture verse:"This is what the Lord asks of you, only this: to act justly, to love tend erly, and to walk humbly with your God."Micah 6:8Jansen Fargo Funeral Home 204 E.
