    Van Handel, Mary E. 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Brewster Village, Appleton. She was born on June 21, 1929 to the late Daniel and Catherine (Biese) Ferguson in the Town of Holland, WI. Mary was a devoted wife to her husband Clarence for 66 years whom she married on May 1, 1948 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. They farmed for 20+ years and she worked for a toy factory. Mary was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Catholic Foresters. She enjoyed baking, camping, square dancing and playing cards, especially sheephead.
    She is survived by 8 children: Jim (Barb) Van Handel, Sandy (Terry) Lillie, Kathy (Mike) Glasheen, Gary (Brenda) Van Handel, Cindy (Ronnie) Hermus, Ron (Carolee Moe) Van Handel, Lisa (Tom) Vanden Langdenberg and Greg (Laurie) Van Handel; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren;
    Mary was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in April; parents, three brothers: Donald, Bill and Cyril; a sister Bertilla; four grandchildren: Matthew, Farah, Amanda and Michaela.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30AM, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom with Rev. Walter Stumpf officiating. Friends may visit the family from 9:30-11:30AM directly at church on Thursday. Burial will be at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
    The family extends a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Brewster Village for the excellent and compassionate care shown to Mary and her family.

    Bertilla Jansen, age 75, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born in Kaukauna on August 8, 1937, daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine (Biese) Ferguson. Bertilla married James Hooyman, and together had six children. Jim passed away in 1964, and Bertilla then married Charles Jansen; together they also had a son. Bertilla worked for a time in the kitchen at Xavier High School, but will be best remembered as a CNA for Valley Visiting Nurses and as a hospice worker. She loved bowling, bingo, playing on her computer, reading, and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
    She is survived by seven children: Debra (Greg) Van Ryzin of Winneconne; Sarah Ramos of Killeen, Texas; Mary (Vickey) Taylor of Gloucester, Virginia; Julie (Bill) Kruschke of Shawano; Karen Hooyman of Menasha; James Hooyman of Appleton; and Charles Jansen of Appleton. There are also eight grandchildren and four great-grandchidlren; and a sister: Mary (Clarence) Van Handel of Seymour. Bertilla was preceded in death by her parents, husbands James Hooyman and Charles Jansen, and brothers Bill and Donald.
    A private service for the comfort of the family will be held at the Wichmann Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.wichmannfargo.com.

    Amanda Marie Van Wychen, 32, Kaukauna, passed away on July 27, 2014. Amanda was born on June 9, 1982 to Tom Vanden Langenberg and Lisa Van Handel. She was a graduate of Kimberly High School. On May 22, 2006 she married Mark Van Wychen in Appleton Wisconsin. Amanda was a loving mother to her children and loved time with her family more than anything. She also enjoyed listening to music and watching movies.
    Amanda will be sadly missed by her husband Mark, children: Alex, Brady and Mariah, her parents: Tom Vanden Langenberg and Lisa Van Handel, grandparents: LaRose Vanden Langenberg and Clarence and Mary Van Handel as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her sister Michaela Vanden Langenberg and her paternal grandfather Bernard Vanden Langenberg.
    Funeral Services for Amanda will be at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 E. Wallace Street in Combined Locks on Friday August 1, 2014 at 6:00 pm with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday at the church from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Seymour.
