    Miss Ramona Curtis and Clarence Hooyman of Appleton, were in a minor automobile accident Sunday on sicning on the outskirts of Appleton on the Little Chute road when a wheel came off the car. No one was injured and no damage was done. When the car was being taken to a garage, however, it tipped over and was badly damaged.

    Obituary:
    C M. Hooyman, Former Umpire In Area, Drowns Clarence M. "Spinner" Hooyman, 53, Sturgeon Bay, a former baseball umpire in this area, drowned Friday morning at Harrisville, Mich. Hooyman was working on a government breakwater for the Roen Salvage company, Sturgeon Bay. He had been employed as a crane operator and fireman for the company. According to Charles Asher, company president, Hooyman had been in Harrisville and was returning to the barge anchored about 300 feet off shore. He was alone in a rowboat with an outboard motor and apparently slipped getting into the barge. Hooyman could not swim, the sheriff at Harrisville said. Hooyman was born May 17, 1905, in Freedom. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Stoneman Funeral home, Sturgeon Bay. Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Hoffman, Kaukauna; one step-daughter, Yvonne John- son, Madison; one son, Lee, Kaukauna; one step - son, James Johnson, at home; three brothers, Aloysius, Arthur and Stanley, all of Appleton; eight sisters, Mrs. Joseph Weyenberg, Mrs. August Jahnke and Mrs. Eugene Rickert, all of Appleton; Mrs. Clem Vandenberg, Kaukauna; Mrs. Joseph Frieble, Kimberly: Mrs. James Krieg, Neenah; Sister M. Marianella, West Bend, and Mrs. Ovia Powell, Detroit; and eight grandchildren.

    Hooyman Services Funeral services for Clarence M. "Spinner" Hooyman, 53, Sturgeon Bay, a former baseball umpire in this area, will be at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Stoneman Funeral home, Sturgeon Bay, with burial in Bayside cemetery, Sturgeon Bay. The Rev. Myron Medin, of Bayview Lutheran church, Sturgeon Bay. will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 o'clock this afternoon. Hooyman drowned Friday morning when he apparently slipped while stepping from rowboat to a barge while working for the Roen Salvage company, Sturgeon Bay, at Harrisville, Mich.

    Age 75, died Saturday February 7, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Dottie was born July 31, 1928 to the late Clarence and Ramona (Curtis) Hooyman in Black Creek, WI. She married Robert Hoffman on July 11, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Dottie enjoyed word puzzles, solitaire, knitting and crocheting. She created over 67 afghans last year; many of them were donated to the Church. She loved her children and grandchildren, they also were on the receiving end of the many useful items she made.
    She is survived by her husband, Bob Hoffman; her eight children, James (Kathy) Hoffman and their children, Ron & Fred; John (Ann) Hoffman and their children, Kevin, Ryan & Patrick; Thomas (Jean) Hoffman and their children, Michelle (Patrick) DeGroot, Ranae & Travis; Paula Jozefowicz (friend Andy) and her children, Brian, David, Steven and Paul; Mark (Pat) Hoffman and their children, Hilary, Scott, Jessie & Amy; Richard (Rebecca) Hoffman and their children, Kimberly & Michael; Barry (Michele) Hoffman and their children, Heather, Holly, David, Alicia & Heather; and Mary "Huffy" Hoffman; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Martin Hooyman and two brothers in law, Kenneth (LuAnn) Hoffman and Carl (Karlene) Hoffman and a sister in law, Slyvera "Tuttie" Hoffman.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, James Jr. & Brian Hoffman, a brother in law, Donald Hoffman and three sisters in law, Marie Jansen, Betty Van Schyndel and Dorothy Witthuhn.
    The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday February 10, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 7th Street Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch. Friends will be received on Tuesday at Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Burial will take place at the Parish Cemetery. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
    Also, Special Thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and the entire Staff at St. E's in the Intensive Care Unit for all they did for Dottie.
