    Mrs. Elizabeth DeGroot Route 4. Appleton Aee 76. passed away at 7.00 a.m. Saturday, after a short illness -Mrs. DeGroot was born March 27. 1835 in Germany. She moved here in 1917. The late John DeGroot. her husband, died in 1935. Survivors- three daughters. Mrs. Kenneth Hahnemann. Route 4. Appleton; Mrs. Antone DeWitt. Appleton: Esther DeGroot. at home; one brother, Theodore Giesing. Oberhausen. Germany. Three sisters. Mrs. Josephine Te- best. Mrs. Anna Kicharc. Mrs. Marie Ophey. all from Goch. Germany. Eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren survive. Services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. in St Pauls Catholic Church, Combined Locks Burial in Parish Cemtery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Fu- neral Home. Kaukauna, after 7 o'clock Sunday evening. Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sun- day and Monday evenings.     DeGroot, Esther Marg aretEsther Margaret DeGroot, age 86, passed away on March 27, 2006, after a sh ort illness, at home with her loving family around her. She was born Febru ary 14, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Geising) DeGroo t. Esther was a farmer and loved baking, trying new recipes, she was we ll known for her special Lemon Meringue pie and her famous Sea foam and re al Fudge candies. She had a love for planting and growing flowers. Her fam ily and friends will miss her deeply.Esther is survived by her caregivers: Gordon (Bev) Baumgart and Fred Baumg art; special friend, Jessie Meyerhofer; Robert Rutten and Debbie Haasle y. She is further survived by nephews: Anton (Jean) DeWitt, Frank DeWit t, Bob (Carol) DeWitt, Bill (Dorothy) DeWitt, Victor (Karen) DeGroot, Jo hn (Diane) Baumgart, and Michael (Patti) Baumgart; and nieces: Elizabeth J archow, Mary Brown, Rose (Ken) Huss, Elizabeth (Bob) Price, Theresa Halver son and Geraldine Baumgart; and numerous other nieces, nephews and friend s.She is preceded in death by sisters: Frances (Kenneth) Hahnemann, Minnie ( Anton) DeWitt, and Edith (Gordon) Baumgart; brother, Victor (Rita) DeGroo t; nephews: Carl J.     Anton C. "Tony" De Witt, 82, of Combined Locks, passed away on Wednesday.
    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 601 S. Washington Street, Combined Locks. Visitation will be at the church on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A complete obituary will be in Sunday's paper.

    Anton C. "Tony" "Pete" De Witt, 82, of Combined Locks, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. He was born in Little Chute on January 7, 1934, son of the late Anton and Minnie (De Groot) De Witt.
    Tony worked at Thilmany Paper Mill for 41 years before his retirement. He was always helping people, whether it be with a project, giving valuable advice or volunteering. Tony received a Founders Award with the St. Joe's Food Pantry, he was Volunteer of the Year with the Salvation Army, and also volunteered with meals on wheels and the YMCA, helping with their Christmas tree sale. He faithfully donated blood with the Community Blood Center for many years.
    Part of Tony's daily routine was going to the YMCA every morning, an hour before it opened, and seeing all of his "YMCA Family." Together they would exercise and do plenty of socializing. Tony also enjoyed working in his yard and enjoying the wildlife in it. He was known as the "Mayor" of his neighborhood because he always knew what was going on. Most importantly to Tony was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Tony is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jean De Witt; his children: Paul De Witt, Mark (Kay) Beresford, Kim (Robert) Sjoquist, Kevin (Wendy Van Der Geest) De Witt, and Darin (Michele) De Witt; a former daughter-in-law, Wendy De Witt; grandchildren: Sara (Derek) Van Der Horst, Robin Beresford, Jeff (fiancé Kaitlin) Beresford, Ben (girlfriend Taylor) Sjoquist, Jennifer Sjoquist, Joshua (Meghan) De Witt, Aaron De Witt, Holly (Elliot) Arft, Connor De Witt, and Ember De Witt; great grandchildren: Lucas, Taylor, Owen, Alexis, Chase, and McCoy; three sisters: Rose (Ken) Huss, Mary Brown, and Theresa Halverson; two brothers: Bill (Dorothy) De Witt and Frank De Witt; a sister-in-law, Carol De Witt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law; a brother, Bob De Witt; and a great grandson, Wesley.
    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 601 S. Washington Street, Combined Locks. Visitation will be at the church TONIGHT, Monday evening, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.     Frank E. De Witt "Pat", age 81, formerly of Kaukauna, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was born in Little Chute on October 25, 1935, son of the late Anton and Minnie (De Groot) De Witt. Frank worked at Bel Kaukauna Cheese for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where he was an usher at 4:30 Mass for many years. Frank volunteered at the Loaves and Fishes and made daily trips to visit with his friends at the neighborhood coffee shop, Kaukauna Coffee and Tea. He loved racing and listening to Y100, especially The Bear during the morning show.
    Frank will be missed by his siblings: Mary Brown, Rosie (Ken) Huss and Bill (Dorothy) De Witt; sisters-in-law, Carol and Jean De Witt; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    Frank was preceded in death by his siblings: Robert and Anton De Witt and Theresa Halverson.
    Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating.     Robert J. "Bob" De Witt, 78, of Combined Locks passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Little Chute on August 17, 1937, son of the late Anton and Minnie (DeGroot) De Witt.
    Bob married his sweetheart, Carol Van Domelen on November 7, 1964, celebrating over 51 years of marriage together. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After the service, Bob worked at Rich's Bakery for many years until his retirement. Bob had a passion for European cars and enjoyed working on and driving them. He was a family man who enjoyed helping his kids with their projects, vehicle repairs, watching the grandkids or anything else where he could lend a hand for anyone he knew. Bob enjoyed working in the garden, walking the land behind his house, bike riding, model trains and most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his precious grandchildren.
    Bob is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his children: Scott (Cassandra) De Witt, Troy (Kelley) De Witt, Bobbi Jo (Ryan) Paschke, and Nick (Molly) De Witt; grandchildren: Parker, Alexandra, Prescott, Tanner (Kharley), Madyson, Eli, Jacob, Wyatt, Aidan, Kelsey, Gabriel, Riley, and Rayna; siblings: Mary Brown, Anton (Rojean) De Witt, Theresa Halverson, Rose (Ken) Huss, Bill (Dorothy) De Witt, and Frank De Witt; sisters-in-law: Jan (Keith) Reffke, Diane Stalzer, and Judith Lauer; and many other extended family members and friends.
    Bob was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Tina Marie De Witt; his parents; and in-laws, Martin and Evelyn Van Domelen; a brother-in-law, Orville Stalzer.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating.     Halverson, Theresa M. 76, Appleton, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016. She was born on September 28, 1939 in Appleton to the late Anton & Minnie (De Groot) De Witt. Theresa worked at Rich's Bakery for many years. She loved going to Timber Rattler games and watching baseball on TV, and she enjoyed listened to country music. Theresa loved her dogs Miggie & Lucy; they were her life.
    Theresa is survived by her sisters: Mary Brown, OR and Rosie (Ken) Huss, Kaukauna; brothers: Frank De Witt, Kaukauna and Bill (Dorothy) De Witt, Appleton; and sisters-in-law: Jean De Witt and Carol De Witt. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Victor "Vic" DeGroot, 69, passed away unexpectedly, July 20, 2014. Born March 2, 1945 in Combined Locks, WI. Son to the late Victor H and Rita (Coonen) DeGroot. He was married on September 7, 1968 to Karen Natrop. They began their family and raised five children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
    Vic graduated from St John High School in 1963. He attended Fox Valley Technical College in the Tool & Die Machinist Apprenticeship program. In his early years, he worked at Badger Northland. In 1970, he began working at Fox Valley Tool & Die in Kaukauna, where he was still employed. Vic truly enjoyed going to work everyday. He was dedicated and passionate about his work. He cherished his friendships he made. They were his second family.
    Vic was a faithful Catholic and member of Holy Cross Parish. He was a communion distributor and faithfully attended the Stations of the Cross. He went on a retreat every November for the last 30 years. He was an avid member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1033 for over 30 years. He held the honor of Grand Knight two terms during his membership.
    Vic had a green thumb. He always planted trees, flowers and vegetables every summer. He always took great pride in his lawn both at home and at his cabin. In 1998 the cabin was built. His wishes were for himself and Karen to come and enjoy their time spent making memories with the family. He enjoyed lots of campfires. He built a 23' tall swing set for the children, grandchildren and guests to enjoy. The cabin was Vic and Karen's home away from home.
    Vic has sponsored a child for the past 7 years Marta, who lives in Guatemala. It was his passion to always help people in need. He would give you the shirt off his back. He rang bells for the Salvation Army and always contributed each year. Vic has also donated 10+ gallons of blood to the Community Blood Center.
    Vic was a very patient, hard working, loving man. He was kind, gracious and honest, someone you could go to for advice and get a straight answer. He never complained and always wore a contagious smile. Vic would turn any negative into a positive. He taught his children how to do many things. He was a great mentor/role model. He loved to spend time with them as he worked in the garage on projects. Vic enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren to downhill ski.
    Vic is survived by wife Karen, of 45 years and their children: Pat (Michelle) DeGroot, Pam (Kevin) VanStippen, Tim (Corinna) DeGroot, Kris DeGroot, and Jeff DeGroot; grandchildren: Ashley Besaw, Alex DeGroot, Sami DeGroot, Taylor VanStippen, McKenzie VanStippen, Madi Snodgrass, Jacob DeGroot and Alli DeGroot. He is further survived by his sister, Bette (Bob) Price and brother and sister-in-laws: Tari (Rick) Schmitt, Sam (Jill) Natrop, Rick (Brenda) Natrop, and Lynn Kiefer along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother: Dan DeGroot; nephew: Mark Price and Scott Butler; great-grandson: Zayvier Xiong, and his In-laws, Richard and Jeanette (Oost) Natrop.
    Vic was a dedicated and loving husband, who always stood by Karen's side.
    We had no time to say goodbye to you. You will be in our hearts forever. We love you!
    The funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 4:00pm at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. A time of visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.

    Pardeeville--- Elizabeth Ann Jarchow, age 66 passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5 2013, at her home on Swan Lake after battling cancer. Elizabeth was born on December 22, 1946, in Appleton WI, the daughter of Gordon and Edith (DeGroot) Baumgart. She grew up in Weyauwega and graduated from Seymour High School, class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Dennis Jarchow on January 4, 1966 and three sons blessed their marriage.
    Most near and dear to Elizabeth were her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. Her most treasured moments were the sunny days she spent with her family boating and fishing on Swan Lake.
    Elizabeth was well known throughout Columbia County and made many friends through her travels while working in sales and marketing. She was a lifetime member of the VFW auxiliary as well as the Homemakers Club since 1979. She was passionate about her flower and vegetable garden. She thoroughly enjoyed music, traveling, Packer games and Nascar. She was always on the go, eager for a new adventure, and inquisitive about everything life had to offer. She had a warm and vibrant personality and a unique ability to transcend love to many different types of people. She was charismatic and had an uncanny ability to listen genuinely and without judgment, making her instantly loveable to so many.
    A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Pardeeville. Father David Greenfield will preside. Visitation will be held at the Church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
    She is survived by her three sons, Russell (Terri) of Pardeeville; Douglas (Julie) of Appleton; Steve (Diane) of Reedsburg; three grandchildren, Kyle, Brooke and Danielle. She is further survived by Dennis of Fond du Lac, and a special friend and companion, Bob Cyra of East Troy; brothers, Gordon (Beverly), John, and Mike (Patty); sister-in-law, Geraldine;, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Rutten, Michelle D. "Shelly" (nee Baumgart)
    Michelle D. Rutten, age 41, of Combined Locks, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, December 6, 2005. She was born October 18, 1964 to Gordon and Beverly (Ulmer) Baumgart, and was a lifelong resident of this area. On June 15, 1991 Michelle married Robert J. Rutten of Little Chute. Shelly was very active on the computer communicating with her hearing impaired friends, she enjoyed gardening and helping friends organize special events. She was an avid photographer and was always there for friends and family when needed. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or special event.
    Shelly is survived by her husband, Robert; her parents: Gordon and Beverly (Ulmer) Baumgart Jr. of Appleton; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Chris (Minnie) Rutten of Larsen; brother, Fred (special friend Jesse Meyerhofer) Baumgart; special great-great-aunt, Esther DeGroot; uncles: John (Diane) Baumgart, Mike (Patty) Baumgart, Ray (Frances) Ulmer, Fred (Sandy) Ulmer; aunts: Elizabeth Jarchow, Darlene (Mark) Griesbach, Elaine (Russ) Scheibe, Barbara Ulmer and Geraldine Baumgart; special God Father, Howard Baumgart of Darboy; brother-in-law, Randy (Connie) Rutten, Larsen; sister-in-law, Roxanne (John) Slowatyniec, Neenah; nieces: Isabel and Joette; nephews: Grant and Devon; a God child, Jenna Rose; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    She was preceded in death by great- grandparents: Kenneth (Francis) Hahnemann and Fred (Nell) Baumgart; grandparents: Gordon (Edith) Baumgart Sr. and Albert (Ruth) Ulmer; godmother, Bernice Baumgart; two uncles: Carl J. Baumgart and Larry E. Ulmer; and a cousin Jesse Baumgart.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday December 10, 2005 at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace St., Combined Locks, with Fr. James Lucas and Fr. Robert VandenBerg officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will take place at St. Paul Cemetery, Combined Locks.
