    Obituary:
James Adolph Ambrosius Sr., 77, Laona, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at home. Jim was born August 18, 1932, to Adolph and Mary (VanSistern) Ambrosius in Wauwatosa, Wis.
He was a lifelong resident of Laona and graduated from Laona High School in 1951. After graduating, he met the love of his life, Shirley Geurts, and married her in 1953 in Wrightstown.
Jim started at a young age helping his father and brother in the logging industry for A. J. Ambrosius and Sons Logging Co. back in the day when work was done with horses and loaded many trucks and rail cars by hand. They worked hard to gain a reputation of having one of the best logging companies in the area.
After retiring from logging, he worked many years with his friends on the grounds crew at Nicolet Country Club in Laona taking pride in the quality of work he provided. Jim enjoyed traveling, spending several winters in Florida. The past few summers, he put many miles on his mo-ped traveling the roads and visiting with people along the way. He was a lifelong member of St. Leonard's Catholic Church and enjoyed attending daily mass. He was also a volunteer for the Laona Rescue Squad.
Jim managed to have a successful career, loving family and a journey filled with great scenery and fascinating destinations. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Mike) Belland, Sharon (Kevin) Kramer; one son, Jim (Patty) Ambrosius Jr., all of Laona; one sister, Jean (Jerry) Daul, Kaukauna; one brother, Tom (Ruth) Ambrosius, Laona; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and close friends.
He's preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; infant son, Bruce; infant daughter, Susan; and his parents Mary and Adolph Ambrosius.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Laona. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Father John Cerkas officiating. Obituary:
Tom J. Ambrosius, of Laona, lost his brave fight with cancer on Saturday, December 20, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 3, 1934 in Laona to Adolph and Mary (VanSistern) Ambrosius.
Aside from 2 years in the Army during the end of the Korean War, Tom spent his whole life living on Silver Lake in Laona. He married his lifelong best friend, Ruth, on January 3, 1959. They had 4 children, 9 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren.
Tom was a logger; it was his job, but also his passion. He was partners with his brother, Jim. Tom took care of the trucking side of the business and even in his final years nothing made him happier than greasing a truck or sweeping out a truck garage floor. Tom was a hard worker and that is perhaps the greatest legacy he has left his children and grandsons; the value of hard work and a job well done.
Tom and Ruth were able to enjoy a long, happy retirement. They traveled the country many times over in their motor home. They cherished the many winters they were able to spend in warmer climates. Tom taught himself to play guitar and loved to "pick" blue grass music. He played as hard as he worked and loved the antics of his LOUD and boisterous grandsons. His "lil dog", Max, brought him much comfort. There was nothing that Tom couldn't fix, do, or make better.
Tom is survived by his devoted and special wife, Ruth, son, Tom, Jr. (Laurie) of Perry, MI, daughters, Linda Dobbratz of Wabeno, Karen (Todd) Mihalko of Marshfield and Kathy (John) Fohrman of Mount Pleasant, grandsons, Jake Dobbratz, Nick and Rob Ambrosius, Brian, Randy and Greg Fatla and Andy, Matt and Geoff Bull and great grandchildren, Evan Dobbratz and Aubrey Mihalko. He is further survived by his sister, Jean (Jerry) Daul of Kaukauna, nieces and nephews.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Adolph Ambrosius and brother, Jim.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at St. Leonard Catholic Church, Laona. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in the Laona Cemetery. Weber-Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences maybe left for the family at www.weberhillfuneralhome.com.
