    LeRoy Melzer, 77, Appleton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at his home. He was born July 23, 1932, in Appleton, son of the late John and Adelle (Cumber) Melzer. He married Patricia Pierre at St. Therese Catholic Church, April 19, 1952, sharing 57 years together.
    Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association, the Wisconsin Autism Society or the National M.S. Society.

    LeRoy, 77, Appleton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at his home. He was born July 23, 1932, in Appleton, son of the late John and Adelle (Cumber) Melzer. He married Patricia Pierre at St. Therese Catholic Church, April 19, 1952, sharing 57 years together. Leroy was employed by American National Can Co. for 37½ years and retired July 31, 1992. He was a charter member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
    LeRoy spent many enjoyable hours with various woodworking projects, camping with family and friends in Door County and playing cards at St. Bernard Parish or the Thompson Community Center. LeRoy took great pride in his family and was always there to help them.
    He is survived by his wife Patricia, Appleton; a daughter and son-in-law: Leanne and John Beyer, Appleton, and their children Eric and Philip; 6 sons and 5 daughters-in-law: Stephen and Julie Melzer, Appleton, and their children, Troy, Tracy and Thomas; Greg and Wendy Melzer, Appleton, and their children, Jennifer, Kory and J.J.; Alan Melzer, Appleton, and his children, Samuel and Maxwell; Brian and Diane Melzer and their children, Marie and Jill; Paul and Debora Melzer and their children, Matthew, Nick, Sara and Elizabeth; Mark and Sandy Melzer and their children, Rachel and Abbey; two brothers and sisters-in-law: John and Eunice Melzer, Canton, GA; Keith and Beverly Melzer, Appleton; a sister and brother-in-law: Valerie and Richard Kranzusch, Waupaca; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa.

    Valerie M. Kranzusch, age 79, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Theda-Care Regional Medical Center-Appleton. Valerie was born in Appleton, WI on March 19, 1938, the daughter of the late John and Adelle (Cumber) Melzer. She worked for many years at Waupaca Clinic in the Medical Records Dept. On February 11, 1961, Val married Richard Kranzusch in Appleton and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2014. She loved gardening, reading, watching the Brewers and NASCAR. Val is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughters: Bonnie (Dan) Kranzusch-Dahlke, Inver Grove Heights, MN and Cheryl (Mark) Taber, Waupaca; her grandchildren: Alicia (Nathan) Watts; Andrew Peterson and Stephen Dahlke; her great grandchildren: Brandon, Tyler & Kenny Watts; her brothers: John (Eunice) Melzer, Georgia; Keith (Beverly) Melzer, Appleton and her sister-in-law: Patricia Melzer, Appleton. Valerie is also survived by many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dick, a great-granddaughter, Rosalie Ann Watts and her brother, Leroy Melzer. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 12 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waupaca with Reverend Dione Miller, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and also on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church.
