    See Image Metko, Margaret A., MattoonAge 86, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Frida y, March 22, 2002 at The Homme Home of Wittenberg. She was born Octob er 9, 1915 in Ionie, Michigan the daughter of the late Frank and Petrenel la (Verbeten) Johnson. In 1918 she moved to Appleton. On March 27, 1934 s he was united in marriage to Alfred Metko. He survives. The couple then fa rmed in the Mattoon area until the late 1980's. Margaret was a member of H oly Family Catholic Church, Mattoon and its St. Monica's Society. She enjo yed reading, singing, collecting dolls and especially spending time with h er family.     With her family by her side, Lois Eickhoff, 86, Kimberly, was called home by our Lord on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Crestwood Senior Living (Sheelin Cottage living center). Lois was born in Appleton, on April 12, 1925, daughter of the late Frank and Petronella Johnson (Verbaten). She was a graduate of the Appleton High School and over the years held various jobs.
    For many years she was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly, volunteering as a lector, choir member and as a member of the cleaning committee. Lois enjoyed many things in life, her family being number one. She enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, having coffee with close friends and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
    Lois is survived by four children, Dennis (Lynn) Eickhoff, Darboy; Kirk (Linda) Eickhoff, Hilbert; Tim (Lindsey) Eickhoff, Hortonville; and Mary (Bob) Brumm, Kimberly; six grandchildren, Sarah Eickhoff, Eric Eickhoff, Joshua (Michelle) Eickhoff, Leah Eickhoff (Steve Helms), Tim Brumm and Nicole Brumm; and three great-grandchildren, Shanae LaPean, Ryan Eickhoff and Mariana Eickhoff. Lois also leaves behind a brother, Tom (Marion) Johnson, Greenville; a sister, Bernice Stuyvenberg, Kimberly; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank (Virginia) Johnson and Ralph Johnson; sisters, Margaret (Alfred) Metko, Ethel (Harvey) Reetz and Ruth (Al) Dombrowski; and by a brother-in-law, Richard Stuyvenberg.
    The funeral liturgy for Lois will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 204 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly, with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to everyone at Sheelin House and Cottage and the wonderful caregivers from Heartland Hospice. We will never forget your kindness.

    Thomas Johnson, 86, of Greenville, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Appleton Health Center.
    Tom was born April 17, 1927, in Appleton, the son of the late Frank and Patrenalla (Verbetin) Johnson. Tom was united in marriage to Marion Fickel on February 23, 1946, in Appleton. Prior to his retirement, Tom worked for Greenville Locker and Park and Market Stores. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and then the United States Army.
    Tom had a great sense of humor; he was hard-working, dedicated, kind and loving. He loved reading and playing golf, and in the past was a fisherman. Tom was a guitarist and vocalist with the Melodaires here in the valley.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Marion; his son, Steven (Geraldine "Gerri"), Waukesha; his daughter, Dianne (Allan) Fett, New Holstein; two grandchildren, Mathew "Mat" and Abigail "Abby"; and numerous nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by sisters: Ruth (Clair) Swick, Bernice (Richard) Stuyvenberg; brother, Ralph Johnson; Margaret (Alfred) Metko, Ethel (Ray) Verstegen, Lois Eickoff, and brother, Frank (Virginia) Johnson.
    The funeral service for Tom will be Tuesday (today) at 7:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Dietzler officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. today until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.

    Alfred William "Al" Metko, age 77, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. Al was born to the late Alfred and Margaret (Johnson) Metko on November 6, 1935 in Mattoon, Wisconsin. On April 18, 1959, he married Audrey Schuh. Al worked for Miller Electric for over 41 years, retiring in 1996. He loved working with tools and had many. He also loved going up north to Gene's cottage, riding his 4 wheeler, golf cart or his tractor, and camping with his family.
    Al is survived by his wife of 53 years, Audrey, his children: Maria Peterson, and her children; Mariah, granddaughter, Eden, son, Maverick; Joseph (Cara) Metko, their children; Joshua, Stacey (Jason) Beran, and granddaughter Ava; Eugene Metko, his daughter, Karissa; Vicki (Andy) Edlebeck, their children; Jackson, Spencer and Cody; Mark (Samantha) Metko and their children; Muriel, Martin, Charlie and George; Andy (Stephanie) Metko.     Funeral services for Al will be held at 11:00AM, on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W Pine St, Appleton with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Visitation will be held at Valley Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM and again on Thursday, at the church from 9:00AM until the time of service. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
    The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the ICU nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital; thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows hospice as well as the Affinity Visiting Nurses.

    Erbin "Erb" Metko, 58, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. Erb was born on December 27, 1957 to Alfred and Margaret (Johnson) Metko. He married Ella Vaughan on April 18, 1987. Erb worked for 40 years at Miller Electric and he loved his job and coworkers, they were like family. He enjoyed fishing, music, going up north, and the weather. Spending time with his nephew, his daughter and grandchildren was always special and those times will always be treasured.
    Erb is survived by his wife Ella, his daughter Wendy (Dan) Eames, two grandchildren, Zach and Olivia, his siblings; Tom (Germaine) Metko, Ralph (Pat) Metko, Danny Metko, Kathy (Mike) White, Donny (Corrinne) Metko, Nancy (Dick) Eibenholtz, Marge (Wally) Mueller, Bill (Sandy) Metko, mother-in-law, Rosemary Vaughan, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Margaret (Al) Martin, Jean Hammond, Mary (John) Bellmore, Grant Vaughan, Diane (Jim) Moon, Danny (special friend Katie) Vaughan, Betty (Boyd) Hertzfeld, a special nephew Mike (special friend Sandy) Metko, a special friend Michelle Skoglund, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Erb was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Grant Vaughan, and brothers; Jerry and Al (Audrey) Metko, brothers-in-law; Dave Hammond and Bert Joseph Vaughan, and a sister-in-law Vicky Vaughan.
    The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at CHRIST THE ROCK, W 6254 Highway 10-114 Menasha. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. The family would like to thank Lisa Gunderson, UW Hospital in Madison, Appleton Medical Center, Fresenius Dialysis Center and Cherry Meadows Hospice. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in his name.

    Appleton - Richard "Rick" Stuyvenberg, age 67 of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Funeral services are pending at this time. A complete obituary will follow in Sunday's paper.

    Appleton - Richard M. "Rick" Stuyvenberg, age 67, of Appleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, after a long courageous battle with COPD. He was born on July 25, 1950, son of the late Richard and Bernice (Johnson) Stuyvenberg. On October 29, 1993, Rick married Carol Liebergen at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown.
    Rick was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He then worked for 40 years as a pipefitter at the Combined Locks Paper Mill (Appleton Coated). Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting trains, his classic car and Harley Davidsons.
    Rick is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Carol Stuyvenberg; a sister, Patricia Stuyvenberg, Kimberly; a brother, Jack (Peggy) Stuyvenberg, Appleton; nieces: Katie Stuyvenberg, Abbey Stuyvenberg (Goddaughter), and Molly (Cody) Vande Wettering; a great niece, Saylor Vande Wettering; mother-in-law, Lois Liebergen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Paula (John) Van Dyck and their children who are all Rick's Godchildren: Alex, Eric, Ryan and Jennifer Van Dyck, Conrad (Lisa) Liebergen, Tim (Lou Ann) Liebergen and Mark (Jean) Liebergen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bernice Stuyvenberg and his father-in-law, Clayton Liebergen.
    Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Full military honors will be performed by the Unites States Army and the American Legion Post #258 after the Mass. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.     Carol would like to thank in a very special way Jack, Peggy and Paula for being such an amazing support system for her during this difficult time. Also a thank you to the staff of St. Elizabeth's 2nd Floor ICU for the compassionate care given to Rick and to the neighbors (and Harley) for helping keep an eye on things.
