    Sister Mary Grace Peters, age 90, a Sister of St. Francis of the Holy Cross, died peacefully at Woodside Nursing Home on July 21, 2012. Sister Mary Grace (Margaret Ann) was born April 8, 1922 in W. De Pere to Urban and Clara (Kersten) Peters. She attended St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy. Later she received a BA in English from St. Norbert College and an MA in History from Marquette University. Sr. Mary Grace entered the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross in 1940. She was professed in August 1943 and made final profession in August 1949. She celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in August 2001.
    Sister Mary Grace spent many years of dedicated service as a teacher and principal. She loved teaching and taught in schools in the Green Bay Diocese; St. John, Howard, St. Joseph, Marinette, St. Mary, Bear Creek, Holy Cross, Bay Settlement. She served her Community as Director of Postulants, Community Secretary, General Councilor, receptionist/secretary and Development Office Secretary (1992-2003). Sr. Mary Grace retired at the Motherhouse in 2003. Sister Mary Grace is remembered for her love of prayer, beautiful smile, reading, playing cards and visiting the sick.
    She is survived by her sister-in-law Bonnie Peters, nieces and nephews, and by the members and Associates of her Community, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross.
    Sister Mary Grace was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Norbert, Robert, and John and sisters-in-law Veramae and Helen Peters.
    Friends may call at St. Francis Convent, 3110 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay on Monday, July 23 at 4:00 p.m. for the reception of the body and visitation. The Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Visitation for Sr. Mary Grace will continue on Tuesday, July 24 at St. Bernard Church, 2040 Hillside Ln., Green Bay from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor James Dillenburg officiating. Burial will be in the Sisters of St. Francis Cemetery following the dinner.
    The Sisters of St. Francis and the family of Sister Mary Grace wish to express their gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Francis Convent and Woodside Nursing Home for their loving care and support.

    John "Jack" Peters 83, of West De Pere passed away Saturday evening April 2, 2011. He was born October 29, 1927 to the late Barney and Clara (Kersten) Peters. On December 28, 1955 he married Yvonne "Bonnie" Ambrose. Jack lived in De Pere is entire life. He is a veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea from 1946 to 1948. Jack had worked at De Pere Liquor, as well as Leicht Trucking, Spector Freight and Ande's Systems as a truck driver. He also drove stock cars for 17 years, then took over the De Pere track from Bob Marquis., which he ran from 1970 to 1976. Jack then ran Luxemburg racing before giving it up.
    He is survived by his wife Yvonne "Bonnie" Peters, his sister; Sister Mary Grace Peters, and his sister in law Helen Peters, as well as Bonnie's family.
    Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Norbert, and Robert (Vera), as well as members of Bonnie's family.
    Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 3 - 7pm Wednesday April 6, 2011. A prayer service for Jack will be held at 6pm, with full military rites to follow.     Dennis "Pete" Peters, age 61, of Brillion, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Pete was born on May 9, 1949, in Green Bay, son of Helen (Bacon) Peters and the late Norbert Peters. He married Cindy Aplin on May 16, 1998, in Potter, WI. Pete enlisted in the United States Army and served our country from 1967 - 1970. Upon his return from the service, he worked at the Brillion Iron Works. He was then self-employed as an owner-operator of a trucking business. Pete also worked for D & D equipment in Chilton, WI.
    Survivors include his wife: Cindy; his mother: Helen; his children from a previous marriage, a son: Scott Peters (Pamela); a daughter: Stacy Peters; one grandson: Cash Peters; brothers and sisters: Tom (Therese) Peters, Joy (Gary) Gilbertson, and Jill Peters (Dave "Sporty" Fesing), all of Brillion; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
    Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m. (NOON) on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church, Potter. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Marc Axelrod. Burial to follow the luncheon at Brillion Community Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Becker-Bloedorn-Jensen Post 126 of Brillion. Friends and family may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.     Florence - Mark J. Peters, age 70, of Florence, Wis., passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Mich.
    He was born July 31, 1947, in Green Bay, Wis., son of the late Robert and Veramae (Smits) Peters. After high school, he attended Carroll College until he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served four years including one year in Bien Hoa, Vietnam. Mark was united in marriage to Rosemary Carter on October 14, 1967, in St. Mary's Church, De Pere, Wis. He joined the De Pere Police Department shortly after his service, where he rose to the rank of Captain. Mark introduced and helped develop the Domestic Violence Pro-Mandatory Arrest Law for Brown County. He was proud of his Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mary's Church, De Pere, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, chair of the church council and chair of the finance committee. Mark also served on the church council at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence, Wis.
    Mark discovered snowmobiling late in life but became a big fan and served as Blue Ox Trail Rider Club President for six years before his health caused him to step down. He retired to Florence in 2002 where he and the love of his life, Rosie, enjoyed many good years. Rosie was not only his partner and wife but his best friend. Mark was fortunate to have many good friends and relatives; he treasured each of them. The visits from his high school buddies whether at the hospital or home were always cherished and the calls from his high school basketball coach, Rod Kowalczyk, every week, were always looked forward to. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATVing, boating, snowmobiling and traveling.
    Mark cherished his friends up north who were always there for him, the many great nurses and doctors he had through the VA who became friends. His sisters and brother-in-law who moved north and were there for him and Rosie, including the donation of bone marrow stem cells from his sister Marcia, who was a match. Mark loved his children and their spouses and his grandchildren, they were the pride of his life, and he wished he could have spent more time with.
    Survivors include his loving wife, Rosie; three sons, Brett (Sarah) Peters, Appleton, Wis., Brock (Janelle) Peters, Tolland, Conn., and Blake (Sara) Peters, La Crosse, Wis.; daughter, Amanda (Shawn) Boerst, Pulaski, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Grace, Lily, Dalton, Brynn, Aubrey, Evan, Nadia and Lara; two sisters, Marcia (Dan) Tyler, Florence, Wis., and Brenda Thompson, Iron River, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Janet (John) Franken, De Pere, Wis., and Doris (Terry) Keehan, De Pere, Wis.; one brother-in-law, Patrick (Sue) Rukamp, Barron, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Florence, Wis. A Memorial Mass will take place at 12:00 noon at the Church. Rev. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Florence, Wis.
