Obituary:
Carol Kampo, age 77, of Oshkosh, died in the embrace of her Lord and her devoted family on Saturday evening, May 29, 2010. She was in the care of the loving staff at Park View Health Center of Oshkosh. She was born on May 8, 1933, in Appleton, the daughter of Wilbert and Rose (nee: Drexler) Hoerning. Carol married James C. Kampo on June 14, 1952, at Saint Therese Catholic Parish of Appleton. They remained devoted to each other for almost 59 years. The true blessing of their love was their three children: Jill, Jerry and Jeffrey. Carol embraced her role and talents as a homemaker taking joy from her Jim, children and was further blessed with her two grandsons. She would light up a room with her smile and warmth.
Survivors include; her beloved Jim; daughter Jill (Patrick) O'Neill, together with their sons, Taylor, of Washington, D.C., and Keaton, at home with his parents in Oshkosh; two sons, Gerald J. Kampo, of Oshkosh, Jeffrey J. Kampo, of Oshkosh; one brother, Robert "Butch" (Gloria) Hoerning, of Florida; one sister, Nancy (Lee) Blank, of Waupaca; sisters-in-law Bev Hoerning, Hildegard Hoerning, Charlotte Hoerning, Ginny Hoerning, Dorothy Kampo, Colette Kampo; and brother-in-law Andy Lambie; other dear relatives, and many close friends.
Carol was preceded in death by; her parents, brothers, Jerry, Lester and sister Delores.
Funeral services, with the Mass of Christian Burial, will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 4 p.m. at Saint Jude Catholic Church of Oshkosh. The Rev. Thomas Reynebeau will be officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery of Appleton. Relatives and friends may call at Saint Jude Catholic Church of Oshkosh (Sacred Heart campus), on Thursday, June 3, 2010, from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. services. A luncheon will follow the Church services. A memorial has been established in Carol's memory.
Carol's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff of the Park View Health Center family for the support, wonderful care and skill they and Carol experienced under your care.
