  Sonnleitner, Richard C. Richard "Dick" Charles Sonnleitner of Little Chute, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer while surrounded by his family and friends at a local retirement home. Richard was born on October 18, 1941, one of three children to the late Joseph and Arlene (Zak) Sonnleitner. He was a 1960 graduate of Appleton High School and life-long resident of the Fox Valley. On November 23, 1968, Richard married his loving wife, Karen Kuehl. Richard truly loved life, whether it was being an owner/operator of his own semi-truck or working with friends at Home Depot, playing golf, laughing or just spending time with his family and having fun with friends. Dick touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Dick will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Karen Sonnleitner; children: Christie (Chris) Woods and Jeremy (Catherine) Sonnleitner; brother, Anthony (Debbie) Sonnleitner; caring mother-in-law, Florence Kuehl; his precious grandchildren: Landon Woods and Grace Sonnleitner, and along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him. Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Sonnleitner, father-in-law, Clarence Kuehl, and sister-in-law, Corrine Kuehl. A Memorial Service for Dick will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The committal will be held this spring at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Richard's name. Dick's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff and Chaplains at St. Elizabeth Hospital as well as the staff at Affinity Hospice services for all their love and support for Dick.
