  Ruby May Pavlowich, 86, passed away peacefully at Santa Maria Nursing Home on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004. Ruby was born May 20, 1918, on North Van Buren Street in Green Bay. She was the youngest daughter of Paul and Louise (Forcey) Poquette. Ruby married John Pavlowich on May 20, 1939, in Menominee, Mich., and he preceded her in death March 17, 1977. She lived in Green Bay all her life. Ruby was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Church. She was known for testing many traditions and rules. Ruby like everything out of the ordinary and was always open-minded. She had many interests, which included talk radio, reading, ESP, hypnosis, acupuncture, UFO's, floral arranging, gardening, upholstering, painting, line dancing, travel, and many more things throughout her lifetime. Ruby had plenty of constructive criticism for people but at the same time was always there to make everyone laugh and lift them up when they felt down. She is survived by one son, Paul (Carol) Bain, Sr., Sobieski; one stepson, Ernie Pavlowich, Escanaba; three grandchildren, Paul (fiancee, Connie) Bain, Jr., Oshkosh; Laurie (Kevin) Van Der Kelen, Tampa, Fla.; Richard (Karrlin) Bain, Green Bay; seven great-grandchildren; one very close cousin, Pearl Lund, Green Bay; and several close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; four brothers, Paul, Clarence, Edward (Marie) and Earl (Mary) Poquette; one sister, Mary Jane (Basil) Brook; and many very good friends and neighbors. Visitation at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., from 9 a.m. Friday (today) until the time of the funeral. Funeral 10:30 a.m. this morning at SS. Peter & Paul Church with Rev. Tom Farrell officiating. Burial in Cady Cemetery in the Town of Lawrence. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Mark Jenson, the home health workers from Clarity Care, the Santa Maria Nursing Home, and St. Vincent Hospital staff for all the care they provided the past couple years. Special thanks to Robert "Bobby" (Sandy) Olson who is the son of Ruby's very dear late friend, Caryl Olson. He provided caring and compassionate support to Ruby by visiting her every Saturday and being there when the family could not. Ruby is at peace now and will be sadly missed by many who knew and loved her. She will always be valued as a precious gem of a person.
