  William ("Bill") H. Marquardt Appleton, passed away Monday, May 5th, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family, following a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include his wife, Char, of 56 years, two daughters: Lisa (Kirk) Dreier, Appleton and their children: Ross, Brett and Kali; Cynthia (Jim) Perz, Darboy and their children: Nicholas and Alex; one son, Neil Marquardt, and Neil's "loved one" Lauren Klar, Cincinnati, OH; and a brother-in-law, Ken Ebben, Bartlett, IL. Bill is further survived by nieces and nephews, relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; a brother, Jack; two sisters-in-law: Joan (Ken) Ebben and Joyce (Tom) Melby. Bill enjoyed a long career that spanned over 30 years at Miller Electric. Since his retirement in 1992, he spent a good portion of his life challenging dozens of golf courses throughout the Fox Valley and on the sidelines of many soccer fields, cheering on his beloved granddaughter, Kali. Bill and his wife also looked forward to frequent winter trips to the Villages in Florida. Over the last few months of his life, Bill made daily trips to American Medical Center for treatments; even though these days were unpleasant, Bill expressed much gratitude and thanks for the loving care he received from his nurses and doctors at AMC. A Mass of Resurrection will be held for Bill at 11 AM, Friday, May 9th, 2014 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville. Father Daniel Felton will be officiating, along with Fathers Gerald Falk and Charles Brooks concelebrating. Friends may visit the family from 10 - 11 AM on Friday prior to the Mass at St. Edward's Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
